Grey hair grows when the pigment cells stop producing color. Maybe that has to do with some chemical deficiency.

    • RE: Cultivating the love for Reading

The most important thing a parent can do is be involved and reinforce what the child is learning in school. Repetition is the best way for anyone to learn and if the child is only hearing a certain topic at school, there’s a good chance that by the time they get home, they will forget what they’ve learned. Parent’s need to realize that teachers can only do so much. It takes a community to raise a child and the parent’s have to be in on the deal as well. Due to the busy nature of our lives these days, too many parent’s feel that the schools and the teachers have the sole responsibility for teaching their children. And when they fail, they place the blame on the schools. They never look at what they could have done to help out. Parent’s need to take an active interest. Go to parent/teacher conferences, talk to your child’s teacher BEFORE there’s a problem. Get progress reports. Build a report with your child’s teacher so that the teacher is assured that any points that are brought up are actually being heeded at home. And talk to your child about what they learned that day. Don’t just assume that they have learned something because they were there; ask details!

    • RE: How to train/ teach a kid to Reading and Learning?

Reading helps build the imagination, which encourages learning. It’s often said that the education system destroys imagination in kids, or at least attempts to, so the only place left for imagination is within books. When you’re younger, books have pictures, helping you picture what you read. As you get older, you don’t need pictures, because the words form pictures in your head. This is important to develop, because without imagination, everything would stop

    • RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

My daugher Cathy first joined Star River during her Nursery 2, now she is in Primary one. During her preschool time we saw a huge improvements in her Chinese and writing skills also in social skills. The subjects taught are quite comprehensive and well tailored for the kids age. It was definitely one of the best dcisions that I made for sending my daughter to Star River Language School. It offers the right balance of academic performance and an environment where children feel safe , comfortable and happy!

    • RE: The nature of forgiveness

I'm no specialist in forgiveness or anything lol, but from my side, I think that even if someone did something unspeakable to me, I could give it a few weeks to gather my thoughts and let it set in the part of my \"it's alright\" mind but then once I try to forget about it and realize that everyone makes mistakes, and that I have done bad things too, I try to forgive them. And usually I feel a big weight taken off 🙂

    • RE: All About Insomnia

Cut out all stimulation 2-3 hours before the time you want to get to sleep. That means no sugars, caffeine, no adrenaline pumping movies or entertainment. It’s best not to eat at all in those hours.

Have something warm to drink, like water, milk, decaf tea, etc.
