The test taken is the Higher Ability Selection Test (HAST). You can find more information on http://www.acer.edu.au/tests/hast-secondary. This is the same kind of test used by NJC in their selection too. Hope this helps.

Can someone advise if it is better to select Raffles Girls or Nanyang Girls? My daughter has score of 272 + 3 for Higher Chinese. We have an English speaking environment at home so not sure if she can adapt to the culture and environment in Nanyang Girls. On the other hand, Raffles Girls seems to be a very competitive environment so not sure if teachers are caring.

My girl is a Sec 2 (going Sec 3) girl in NYGH. We are also a English-speaking family, and she did not take higher chinese in primary school. Initially we were also worried that she could not cope with higher chinese, but I am glad to share that she has been coping very well over the last 2 years. Of course effort has to be put in cos her foundation is not very strong. So, your daughter, with her high T-score and higher Chinese, will definitely be able to cope. Hope this helps. 😄
Hi, need some advice here. My DS got 241 (A* for MT), and we are thinking of the following choices:

1) SJI (COP 241)
2) Nan Hua (COP 242)
3 or 4) Bt Panjang Gov High (COP 241)
3 or 4) Fairfield Methodist Sec (COP 240)
5 or 6) Swiss Cottage (COP 234)
5 or 6) St Andrew Sec (COP 233)

Any advice?

How is Bt Panjang when compared to Fairfield Methodist?

Thanks much!!

guess my earlier got 'lost' along the way.. any advice from anyone?? Thanks!!

HI

Your preference isit SJI? cause if i were you, i will swap the 1st and 2nd? high chance you will get to SJI.Fairfield has affiliated JC whereas Bt Panjang doesnt have.
hi ksfaith: yep, preference is SJI over Nan Hua cos worried that there will be too much focus on MT in NH and DS not being able to cope. He did not take higher MT in primary school. Good point about the affiliated JC. Will most likely put Fairfield as 3rd choice. Thanks a lot for your input!
