About gesps, so far I like the school teachers a lot. They are all good. The principal seems like a fair person. No personal interaction.

someone asked about kids excel. my kid is in p1 just started kids excel. am not sure abt the academic portion (i saw them in classrooms but not sure what they do, worksheets should be there)


so far my kid likes the sports portion. they do running jumping rolling etc. think it will lead up to gym movements. quite disciplined. then next term i was told they change to drama and so on.

met a boy who kept watching the sports group and he said he loved sports the most but his parents didnt agree to enrol him . he just kept watching them.

i like kids excel as it has a community component as in it strives to help the disadvantaged families. not every organisation has this philosophy.

Hi…I got a very silly question…do kids at queenstown primary get to play zero point??? Or just play catching and stuff before school and during recess? That was the only thing I remembered and looked forward to everyday about going to school, so I just Had To Ask.


I heard so many schools today ask kids to sit down and read and read , before assembly. Even after school, go library before bus comes, and during recess, limited play.

Will appreciate current mommies ’ feedback about this!

I'm happy with the school so far.

I'm staying near Telok Blangah and going to school in the morning is no problem. Traffic is generally clear and it takes at most 15 mins drive to reach the school. Sch starts at 8am but the pupils are expected to arrive by 730am.

As it is a new school, it is difficult to gauge how good or bad it is. But I have a good feeling about the school so far. There isn't a lot of homework for my child. In fact, none at all on most days. Assessments (the sch calls them bite-sized assessments) are not only confined to the typical tests but include show-and-tell and poetry recitation as well.

There are 2 teachers (one form and co-form) to a class of 30. Parents-Teachers meetings are conducted at the end of each term. However, they are not on a one-to-one basis (a minor drawback for me as I prefer to speak to the teachers on my child's progress individaully) but done as a class.

The pupils are supposed to silent-read from the time they arrive till the school bell rings. Recess time is divided into 2 sessions: 930 to 10 and 10-1030am. The pupils are allowed to go to the playground once they've finished eating. The library is also opened during recess time.

I am not familiar with the schools there but heard APS is a new school. Can mommies help to share about their feel of the school so far? What you like..what you don't like...? Are there a lot of work at P1?

How is the culture (or still new?) at the school and teachers at P1? Are kids allowed to play during recess or before school or are they strict about sitting down all the time?

Any sharing of experience shall be very gratefully received...:)
