My DS scored 252 and is offered 3rd language option. May I know how does this give a gauge of whether top 10% has shifted this year with reference to mommyNg’s query?

While I am happy with his results, I was surprised that he is amongst the school “top performers”. And it is a fairly good school (one of those that exam papers tend to get circulated). So am also wondering if the bell curve has shifted and if there could be chances of the COPs reducing this year.

I know at 251 the 3rd language offered were only Arabic and Indonesian (without the Spanish and Japanese etc), whereas at 254 it was offered the 'full suite', so there are 2 tiers of 3rd language cut off marks. Maybe that is another indicator of what the average scores were for this year. Can more parents share?

248 was also offered Malay, Arabic and Indonesian.

My son’s school hasn’t started yet. They said will start for SA2 this year. SA1 is still using the old format.

I asked the tuition teacher about it and was shocked she didn’t even know about the new oral format!

Thanks lee_yl and janet88. You are right. We also don’t really feel comfortable letting him go for the trip. Better not go than keep worrying.
