This year COP is high! DD's friend with 247 got in but not 245.

I believe 245 is inclusive of hmt. Crescent is not sap sch. So the girl's actual score could be 242 or 243.

The girl who got 245 didnt manage to get in CGS. She didn't take HMT so no bonus points. Im assuming this year cop is 246/247.

I am sorry I do not know how much the tablet cost as my children are not in CGS. The school might not be coordinating bulk purchase of tablets in 2018 as more parents prefer to get their own tablets.. you might like to check with the school direct on this. .

The use of tablet is compulsory ๐Ÿ™‚
Ohh sorry ๐Ÿ˜“ thanks anyway ๐Ÿ˜„

Hi, any parents here with sec 1 or sec 2 students in 2017 pls pm me. Would like to clarify some things regarding booklist for lower secondary.

Also, do students need to wear the tie everyday during non-pe days? Sometimes i see cgs girls without the tie in their usual uniform. Do they need to change back to uniform after PE? Sorry for many queries ๐Ÿ˜“

Personally I prefer the previous principal.

The new principal does not give me a feeling of her being professional educator.

My girl have Anxiety issued and it got trigger in P2 2nd Half.
This year P3. The only feedback I get from principal is \"what are you going to do?\", \"Cannot like this.\" ,\"Please bring her bring her home when she cry.\", \"Cannot go on like this\".

We engage REACH to step in to help.
However, I don't feel much school support after my girl reject Therapy in School.
On contrary, she was deem as being wilful, suspect ODD. This crying thing does not happens everyday. It is only maybe once a month or during exam. When she is good and nothing happens, school does not say anything and not encouraging.
At least as parents, I hear nothing from school unless things happens.

I though educator are train to handle kids and will know how to guide them etc.

The previous principal is more encouraging and nice.
In the very least, she tells me not to worry and my girl will be able to overcome her issues.
      It probably just takes times.

      Every child is different.
If school bullies can be tolerated by school. I am wondering why Children with Anxiety issues cannot be tolerated.,
Agree, my children are in QtPS and they despise the new principal.
So do all the other children there apparently. She is also changing all the wonderful things that the old(and 100ร— better) principal, Mrs Chua did. Ms Pearly Ng(new one) is also planning to slowly fire some of the canteen vendors there according to students.
There is a girl in p6 or p5 this yearwho has ASD and anxiety issues. Mrs Chua would always care for her by visiting het during counselling and support her and the girl liked Mrs Chua a lot but once the new principal came, she started wailing loudly when Ms Ng started to scold her for not sitting with her class in the hall without knowing the reason why she was outside. (The girl is only comfortable with certain people and cannot be near many people or else she becomes hysterical)
I dont think the teachers like her either. My girl's form teacher says the teachers feel very uncomfortable with her around.
She is rather monotonous compared to Mrs Chua when she gives her messages to the school too. She came from First Toa Payoh Pri i think.

Heard about students being given special tablets. How much do they cost and when do they have the option to buy them? As I presume that it is compulsory to buy, do the students use it in the classrooms everyday/for homework/research or only certain lessons? Is it like a normal tablet or programmed to only be for "educational purposes"? Sorry for the many questions, confused mommy here!

Anyone knows how non-DSA girls are allocated a CCA? Are there CCA Trials and do they have to be skilled in the CCA to join? For example, my friendโ€™s DD wants to join the choir but she has no Musical training and cannot read scores but she has a passion for singing and can sing quite well. Is it possible for her to join Choir or will she have to either learn musical theory or join another CCA? Thanks

    • RE: PSLE Maths 2017 paper

Yup! Sadly 1 girl who sat near my DD didn't have time to finish and so didn't check. Worst thing is, she is almost always top 5 in Maths and because she didnt do quite a number of questions, straight away A* gone although she found paper 2 easy and had ample time to check. ๐Ÿ˜ž Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. I suggested to DD to set a target to finish MCQ in 20mins and Booklet B in 30mins. She ended up finishing her MCQ in 15 min and Booklet B in 25. So she had some time to check. Remember to skip the questions you are unsure of. I think that is usually the main reason for poor performance in paper 1. Same applies to paper 2.
