mommyNg:She said most of the difficult ones were in MCQ. There was one about similarities between two shapes inside a grid. Something like if the area of the shapes r same/ perimeter/certain angles. They had to choose the correct similarity. Also one on using a certain number of rhombuses to make a parallelogram of a certain length. Need to use property that all sides r equal in rhombus to solve how many rhombus used. One speed question on running around a field, one riding at 5m/s another at 1m/s. Find the time they met. Those are some questions she/classmates found pretty hard. The main thing is not actually the number of steps but how time consuming / how easy it is to understand the question. Most of the \"hard\" questions have pretty simple concepts in DD's opinion, just that you need to \"dig deep\" to understand the question.MoonlightMommy:DD said Paper 1 was rather difficult. She said that 2016 PSLE Paper 2 was much much easier than this year's.(she got 58/60, Math isn't her forte) Hopefully there would be some moderation because she said even top in math students found it pretty challenging. What can we do? It's in the past. Now time to target MT and Sci. Best of luck to the P6 kiddos! :rahrah:
What kind of questions in Paper 1 were difficult?

RE: PSLE Maths 2017 paper
deardear07:
From what my DD said, I think questions that are usually 3/4 mark questions came up in MCQ and Booklet B. She said she didn't notice any 'similar concepts' but knowing her, they probably just went over her head. :slapshead:mummyscopio:
ds said that questions style usually tested in paper 2 came up in paper 1... paper 2 was considered easy
oh! then it sounds like the kids had some form of practice at paper 1 before they took on the paper 2? hopefully the kids can link up the concepts for regurgitation. -
