Daddy:
Dear all, need help on these 2 questions. Thank.

http://i62.tinypic.com/k2igqv.jpg\">
http://i62.tinypic.com/2nu2mau.jpg\">

Question 2

Winnie's Hint: 2 person's average = 29... total mass of these 2 person is 29 * 2 = 58kg
Xania's hint: Heaviest.
Yasmin;s Hint: Zen 2 kg lighter than xania

Ok .....ranking..

1. Unknown (Winnie or Yasmin)
2. Zen
3. Unknown (Winnie or Yasmin)
4. Xania

Looking at it, yasmin and Winnie = 2 years apart.... so how to find the mass of either of them???

Average mass of yasmin and winnie = 29, total = 58. BUT, one of them heaver than the other by 2. (Doesnt matter who because we finding out Xania's weight) However, we need to know what are the 2 weights that make up 58...

so from 58..... 58 - 2 = 56. 56/2 = 28. means the lighter weight is 28kg, heavier weight is 30kg

(NOTE: you may also 58 + 2 = 60 . 60/2 = 30kg to find the heavier weight)

Since consecutive....
Xania's weight = 30 + 1 = 31...

1. 28 (Winnie or Yasmin)
2. 29 (Zen)
3. 30 (Winnie or Yasmin)
4. 31 (Xania)

question 1

a) 3/5 = 3:5
= 9:15
Watermelon 9 units, Pineapples 15 units.

1/3 of each fruit sold
Sold:
Watermelon : 1/3 * 9 = 3 (Left 6 Units)
Pineapples : 1/3 * 15 = 5 (Left 10 Units)

After morning:
6:10 = 3:5

b) Ending watermelon = 1/2 of pineapples
Since both sold 8, means same number of units

1:2 = 2:4
2:4 vs 3:5

1 unit = 8
Watermelons left 2 Units, = 16
After morning watermelon = 16 + 8 = 24

After morning left 2/3 .... 2 units = 24
3 units = 36

36 watermelons at first.

pinky:
I agree with Micko07 that paying attention in class and being consistent

in schoolwork help in managing all the subjects. I discussed with my son
on his needs and we both agreed to have tuition in English and HMT only.
I feel languages are important especially English because they need to
answer essay questions and you need a strong foundation in English to
do so.
As for Maths and Science, ditto for above. The first few chapters are actually
a revision of what they learnt in P6 but more in depth.
Anyway, I feel this first 6 months is for him to get use to the rigours of sec school life and
will assess his performance after his SA1 exam before
deciding the next step.

Going tuition for Languages is a total waste of money and resources. Subscrbing chinese/english newspaper for your kids will be the best way for them to improve their language. This type of exposure will assist them greatly. Tuition doesnt help much.

• RE: [Seng Kang] Primary Schools
am curious, why such a high take up rate for nan chiau? is it really some things that it has that differentiate it from other schools or it is a just a perspective only?

1. History
2. Clan support

thank you.

What about its activities or maybe good PSLE result? or maybe because its root that help to nurture students with good moral values?

another question is for those co-ed school, do in average, boys fared poorly than girls? my impression is that girls are more focused and matured faster than boys. In a co-ed school, do boys/girls tend to get distract in relationship matters? My impression is in the single-sex school, they tend to be more focused…please correct me thanks
being a graduate from nan chiau pri and nan chiau high… i can only tell you that these schools give you ample opportunities to find your potential. not only that, you have rooms to make mistake and rooms to learn from them.

http://i59.tinypic.com/20t43gl.jpg\"> - pleade help me on this question . Thanks in advance

Final A:B is 9:7
Let Final A be 9u and Final B be 7u.
initial A will be 12u. Derive from 3/4 is 9u.
initial B will be 7u+260

Initial A + initial B = 1875
12u + (7u + 260) = 1875
19u = 1615
u=85

Initial A = 12u = 12 X 85 = 1020
Initial B = 7u+260= 7 X 85 +260 = 855

Answer initial A:B is 1020:855 or 68:57

this is absolutely correct.

http://i61.tinypic.com/o0nddt.jpg\"> -one more question . Please help

15 / 2 = 7.5 (but there is no half cube, so 7)
8/2 = 4
3/2 = 1.5 (but there is no half cube, so 1)

therefore, 7 x 4 x 1 = 28 cubes can be fitted.

36 - 4 = 32

4/5 -> 32
1/5 -> 32÷4 = 8
5/5 -> 40

this is correct.
