Hi,laughingcat...I certainly hope that they can adapt or it would be more work for me.

TWU:Mommy Kyoko,Hi,MKS...Thanks for the suggestion to appeal to the school and get the girls retested to see if there is a possibility of them going directly to P6 instead of P5 next year.MsKyoko:
You printed the SA1 or SA2 for them to do? The Science topics covered in Malaysia syllabus seems not to be too far from Singapore's looking from their marks. When do pupils in Malaysia start their Science? They learn Science subject in English or Malay there? Thanks to ksp mums,, keywords are important for answers. You may want to take note..some assessment books will highlight, I understand.
How were dds faring academically when they were in Malaysia's school? Interesting, if not because of their next year is psle year, it may be worth the effort to appeal/get them reassessed so as not to waste a year, if that is possible.
We will certainly raise this up with the principal when we bring them for orientation next week.
I printed both SA1 and SA2 papers for them to do.Generally, the girls took Science in P3 in Malaysia and it was taught in Malay. The girls command of English was quite strong though and it helps them to understand Science concepts better.I also bought Science reference books which are based on the MOE syllabus from Singapore for them to read and understand ever since they started taking Science.
For their last exams which was taken in Malaysia with the exception of Chinese,DD1 got around 78-90 for all subjects while DD2 got around 72-86 for all subjects.
Only problem was their Chinese.DD1 got 55 while DD2 got 49.
starlight1968sg:ME time and will be back to work on Fri
Was wondering if the girls are becoming too overzealous in completing their assignments way ahead of time just because they are going to Australia next week and returning only on beginning of December.
They just finished another 2 papers and was about to start on another one when I had to tell them to take a break for the night.
Funz:Care to share your recipe for masala prawns?Masala prawns
Pan grilled ribeye
Old cucumber soup
Cucumber salad
Should drink lemon water or sarsi with added lemon for added effect. My mom was the one who came up with the sarsi with lemon idea. Some said drinking Aquarius will do the trick too.
The CO2 will kill the germs.
mkw:Thanks everyone, those are good questions to think about. My hubby is for it. Earnings wise, I think should be ok but I am more concerned about not keeping in touch with what is going on. I wanted to work part time but my company is not really for it so sigh it is either work full time or don't work at all.
slmkhoo:As a rule, Singapore schools do not take in new pupils in the P6 year as that is a major exam year. I think you would be wise to let your daughters take another year even if the principal is agreeable to letting them enter P6. They have to adjust to Singapore school and a new curriculum, new friends, new environment etc. Let them have the extra year to make the transition. If not, there is a risk that they don't adjust well because of the stress (P6 teachers seem to talk non-stop about PSLE), and other students may not be as open to making new friends either. Making a good adjustment to a new school is more about friends and feeling \"at home\" than about keeping up academically.
I checked up the MOE website some months ago and they generally do not admit students into P6 directly.MsKyoko:
How were dds faring academically when they were in Malaysia's school? As for myself,I actually became a SAHM for less than 6 months.Spent my days reading, exercising, homeschooling the DDs and also keeping in touch with the current world.
Some sacrifices have to be made(eating less often outside like restaurants and cutting unnecessary expenses like personal and mass/personal entertainment).Even DH has to think twice now when buying top-end Adidas soccer boots and goalkeeper gloves because he is involved in a weekend team.
Initially,I just wanted to stay at home for the next 2 years until both DDs go to Secondary 1 and then I will go back to work after that.
But the appearing of another younger pair of female twins threw a spanner into my working plans.I am now thinking if I should be a permanent SAHM or not.
Most likely go back to work when the older DDs reach upper secondary or JC levels.
mkw:Am thinking to quit my job to look after my two kids. One is 7 and the other is 4. How is the life of a SAHM? Haha
