I agree warm egg taste better, that's why i thought may be i should heat it up again the next morning. Hmm...maybe should try it out to see if re-heated' eggs taste different. Usually i take about 20min to boil the eggs (taken out straight from the fridge) so that i'm 100% sure that I'll get hard-boil egg and not half-boil egg. Anyway, may try to leave the eggs overnight at room temp like what Jennifer has sugg, hopefully it'll cut down on the boiling. Must do some 'experiment'. My mum ever told me that if I can pick up the eggs using a pair of wooden chopsticks, it should be quite safe that the eggs are ready. Have tried that but am not skillful enough so sometime i drop and crack the eggs in the boiling water instead
Oh yes, i usually add a bit of salt in the water so that it's easier to shell the eggs later. So much about EGGs hmmm...

RE: Healthy breakfast for school kids
Thanks for the info daddybear.
Would love to give DS hard boil eggs for breakfast but it takes too much time to prepare (time is precious esp during the morning rush hours). Just wondering if it causes any 'harm' if I pre-boil the eggs the night before and keep them in the fridge (without shelling them) and heat them up again the next morning (probably just need to take 5mins). Is this considered 'overnight food'? -
RE: Healthy breakfast for school kids
My DS loves hard boil eggs with mayo. Is there any limit to the no. of eggs a child should take in a week? Know adult should limit to 2-3 eggs per week.

RE: What is the best way to teach 'more than and less than'?
Thanks for sharing.
DS is confused. He tends to 'add' when he sees the word 'more' and 'subtract' when he sees the word 'less', therefore
5 is 2 less than 3 => which is incorrect
5 is 1 more than 6 => which is incorrect
Will try to reinforce the numberline method and guess more practice sessions with him too (hopefully not tearing sessions for him) -

RE: What is the best way to teach 'more than and less than'?
My DS is in K2 this year, he also has problem understanding the 'less than' & 'more than' concept eg.
5 is 2 less than ____
5 is 1 more than _____
____ is 1 less than 6
____ is 3 more than 5
Is there any good way of teaching such concept, I've hard time explaining and DS always end up in tears doing this type of questions. :scared: -

RE: All About Teaching and Learning Phonics
Hi Tamarind,
I tried the phonics teaching method you shared in your blog. DS1 and me had great fun! He was able to pronounce most of the 3-letter words to my surprise. The fun part came in when I asked him to try to explain some of the words (eg. he explained ‘Jam’ as ‘Jam’ on the bread, traffic ‘Jam’…etc). However, I have problem explaining present and past tense to him (eg. ‘sit’ vs ‘sat’). Is it the right time to introduce present & past tense to a K1? Will I confuse him? -
