Anyone gets hci and nush selection invitations which happen on same day 16 July? Did you request for alt arrangement from either schools? Thanks!
Our son is in the same situation. Not sure possible to request for alternative date of change? & Approach which school first?. What will be your plan Joko

I plan to wait till NUSH test results out first. If cleared, then likely I will email NUSH to ask if there’s alternative timings. If don’t clear, then no issues.
I think the schools know there’s clashes.
Like for RI the other day, they knew some kids need to rush off to NUSH, so they asked those kids to leave the hall first, ahead of the rest.
Thank you Mystique for the advise. We shall also wait for the result for NUSH, and see if we can re-arrange.

NUShigh round 1 results will be on July 14
May I know how will be the Selection camp in NUShigh?

what kind of questions will be asked?
How do you know that the NUSH round 1 results will be out on July 14? If one is selected for Selection camp on 16 and happened HCI interview also on 16th? Not sure if possible to re-schedule HCI / or NUSH? Any parents will encounter such a situation on the 16th July?

How was the NUSH selection test today? And the RI tests? What was it like?
We've no skin in the game for these schools. Just curious and wondering if anyone wants to share.
Son said the science is very hard! All the best to all who sat for NUS selection test.

I'm a foreigner (American) and I have 3 children in Childfirst at the moment. My 2, 4, and 5 year old all attend (N1, N2, and K2) and the elder two have been attending for a year. I really like the school and appreciate that they offer immersion in Chinese.

My 5 and 4 year old can converse with people in Mandarin. My 5 year old reads and writes the characters. It turns out he is much better at reading Mandarin than he is at English! They do not teach Pinyin until K2. We have a Mandarin home teacher for my 7 year old and she is impressed with my children's chinese speaking abilities.

More pluses:
The center is very clean and tidy. They are are always cleaning it. The environment is very new and bright and pleasant to be in.
The curriculum is great. They do not follow it super closely in N1/N2, but the K1/K2 books are used every day and my son loves his school books. He sleeps with them in his bed. 😉

A few minuses:
Expensive, especially for foreigners. Ouch!

They are a bit disorganized for my tastes, but they mean very well and respond promptly to emails and phone calls.

There was some issue with the bus driving company for a number of months (I got yelled in the middle of the night at for not paying them, even though I had and showed them copies of the cheques, they cursed and gave middle fingers to people in the presence of children, plus my children learned how to say \"shut up\" because the bus uncle was not nice). Finally the school fired them and terminated their agreement immediately. The new bus company is so nice and so much better.

Please PM me if you have further questions. I don't mind answering them at all.
Hi Mary, which centre do you send your kiddos to? Any outdoor play for children there?

Hi mummies who is keen to enrol in 2013 for their toddlers, do keep me posted on their enrollment date too. As I am a 1st time mother who is very new to all this registrations. I like this thread talking about Newton Kindy. Hope my son will get a spot too. Our family speaks majority English at home. Weak in our Mandrian. Hope to get him more exposure in this. Thanks please keep me posted.

Thanks mummies. See you all in 2013. :imcool:

Michol so impressed with potty training ur DD at 20 months. Mine is really 19 months still on full-time diapers. Bought him interesting potty and training pants still not working out well. How do you train yours? Very impressive. Do share please.

Mybabyme, i did the same for DD and DS, but DD only fully toilet trained at 30 months old, but DS somehow is faster.. since young, after 6 mths or so, we get them to sit on potty to pass urine and motion, DS will pass motion every morning on potty without fail, DD is somewhere in the day, not morning..
Thanks for the tip. Just keep putting them at the potty. Funny thing my son doesn't like to have his diaper removed. I got to sit him with his diaper on. Funny rite!! Hehe

so i guess u can continue to get them to sit on potty and remind them to go toilet/potty when need to pee/poo.. now i get DS to sit on toilet bowl with the baby seater on to poo.. am trying to train him to pee standing but he always use his leg to play with his pee.. so now i still have to let him pee by holding his legs up or sit on toilet bowl.. many times the pee just shoot up when sitting in toilet bowl.. haizzz..

dun worry abt it.. just continue to remind them one day they will get it.. for my DD, i even borrow toilet training book to read with her..
