      Han Seo:
Argh! My condition came back after I sacked my part-time cleaner and resumed doing the household chores.

In the beginning, the cleaner left 15-20 minutes early before the agreed 4 hours and I kept quiet. Soon after, she left 30min to 1 hour early (a 4 hour session became a 3.5 or 3 hour session) and still expected me to pay her for 4 hours work! And I was at home during those times. I didn't even dare think about those times I wasn't at home as I had left my keys with her!

I had engaged 4 part time cleaners in the last 10 years; all are PRS. Only one was reliable BUT all took turns to break my appliances. One pulled the strings on the blind so hard the whole mechanism failed and I had to replace all the blinds with curtains. Another broke my vacuum cleaner every 6 months; pulled on the chord so hard the motor went dead. And another damaged my rainwater showerhead that I had installed for only 6 months. When I did my own housework, none of these happened!

Just got myself a robotic cleaner but the robotic cleaner can't scrub the toilet, hang out the clothes nor wash the rugs. Really headache. And now my spouse wants to keep a pet!
So sorry to hear that. Perhaps it's time to leave the house uncleaned.... then husband might help? 😄 Or apply the philosophy \"Something has to give\". Start treatment soon... don't wanna let pain and restrictions dominate our lives.

Years ago, my eldest sister had the injection done and it worked. Ten years later, the other shoulder was afflicted and she went for a shot again but it didn't work the second time. Not sure if it was due to the severity of the condition, the skill of the doctor or other factors.

Hi Han Seo .... The effectiveness of the hydrodilatation is dependent on the severity of the condition. Most people require 2-3, even up to 4 injections for it to work.

      Imami:
How do I tell if I have frozen shoulders? I try reading but still can't differentiate frozen shoulders and the usual aching shoulder...

Imami, frozen shoulders (i.e. adhesive capsulitis) basically means that you have very restricted movements of your shoulders in many directions; inflammation of the shoulder joint; and fluid build-up inside the shoulder joint. Sometimes it could be caused by a minor strain/injury to your shoulders, we do nothing to it so the healing process wasn't proper, hence fluid build-up becomes sticky (adhesive), and hence, shoulder joint is \"stuck\", therefore restricting movement.

There are 3 main methods to test your shoulder joint: -

      1) straight arms by your side, raise arms sideways upwards and towards the head (like drawing a semi-circle) ... if you start having pain in the shoulder joint, at the height of your shoulders and have trouble raising it to 180 degrees (Keeping your head straight, no bending to allow more movement of arms)

      2) raise arms front ways towards your head ... just like above except drawing the semi-circle from the front.

      3) internal rotation/hand-behind-back test - best example is, the hook-bra ability. Currently, I certainly can't hook my bra.

Usually these are the tell-tales signs. My Sports Doctor didn't even have to do any scans and he confirmed what I suspected. I am back in Melbourne now and just did my 2nd treatment of Hydrodilatation. What that means is having a needle at my shoulder joint, injection of local anaesthetics + cortisone + saline into the joint. Anasthetics numbs the area, cortisone is the anti-inflammatory, and saline is the 'hydro' part. The saline is used to flush out the 'sticky fluid' and stretch out the joint (dilate) to allow movement. All these are done under X-ray so the doctor can see where he's injecting and how the shoulder joint has move. I have attached X-rays to show you what it does to the shoulder joint.

I have yet to find a good acupuncturist to treat me. The sports doctor said a combination of hydrodilatation and acupuncture should be a good treatment course.

    • RE: Photographer for Family portraits?

      Hi everyone

I was hoping someone can recommend a studio photographer for family portraits. Preferrably not too old-fashioned, can make the session fun too. We have 8 adults, 5 kids and 3 pet dogs.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      :thankyou:

    • URGENT! Confinement lady for June

      Dear KS parents...

      :?: :?: :?:

I'm helping a friend find a confinement lady for his wife who is due in June. Hopefully word of mouth recommendation, instead of agency. Anyone has one that they are happy with and would recommend please?

Thank you very much in advance.
