      Hi everyone,

Just want to start this topic as my child (p2 next year) is bit reluctant to write. My ds when asked to write, will try his best to write as short sentence as he could plus not happy at all when mommy asks him to write.Going to p2 next year, just curious that any experienced mommies could help?
How can I develop his interest in writing and make him write at least 80 words story based on 4 pics with a nice flow ,start and ending?

Hope to get some suggestions from you all :hugs:

      Hi Nahiz,

We do agree with the rest too in getting him started with writing short sentences. Pictures and illustrations also play an important role in developing interests in young children. They help children visualise and understand how and what they can write about.

For starters, how about collecting pictures that are of interest to your child? It could be pictures from magazines, newspapers, or even printed from the internet.

      1. Get your child to talk about the picture
      2. Write down a few sentences about the picture

Subsequently, you can give your child a topic, he could either find his own pictures or even illustrate them (children like to draw, I'm sure they will be more than glad to draw... This could make him look forward to writing too).

These writing exercises can be compiled into a book. Children will feel encouraged when they see their works appreciated.

Here are 2 strategies in helping your child get started in writing:

      Hope this helps 🙂

Aww thanks a lot for the help;)

    • RE: 2016 PSLE Discussions (Born in 2004)

Hi hi,can any kind soul help me understand how T-score will be calculated for a child who has exempted Mother Tongue?? My child joined school here in p3 so she was eligible to exempt MT,so we did that for him. That time ppl told that in PSLE result ,he will not be effected and there is a fair way to deal with it.

Is it??? How they will calculate aggregate t-score out of three subjects then??

I so agree with Eliora, during this year and last year (p3/4) I used Daily Dose of Science,Everything you need to know about Science,Science Companion,Process Skill and some other titles (forgot their name) for my child BUT liked Conquer Science the most!! I bought it at end of this year (just near to sa2 for p4) but it really helped 🙂

      Hi everyone,

I am curious about how and on what basis MOE rejected foreigner children?? One of my friend’s child (foreigner) got rejected and moe simply sent letter of rejection and adviced to look for private school.Parents are so worried as child’s elder sister already in local primary school (P2 got admission last year)but this year now their second child could not got any place.

My question is …is there any chance that they can get a place in local school for their child later in the year??
