3) NUS High
P5 SA2. AL9

Yes, NUSH will require applicants to submit their Primary 6 SA1 results.
Actually NUSH doesnt look at results. All applicants are based on performance on their own selection tests.
Perhaps due to Covid years, no written tests or camp test so results were submit via the same DSA portal.

PSLE resutls dont matter in NUSH as they dont take part in the open Exercises. DSA 100% on their own selection process.

So much hype, about NUS High.
Certainly, no doubt about it, NUS High is indeed a good Sec school.

Or

am I ignorant, hence never hear of ?

Actually, the Dean (Principal) of NUS High ought to share info with parents : where do these NUS High graduates end up in career ? So many past several batches have already graduated. Surely, have sufficient info gathered.

See !

It is one thing, to know so many excited, starry eyed P6 students trying to DSAc into this school.
Entering, is only the beginning.

But, how u end up in ... is even far more important, than how u have started out, at the starting line.

For those of us who had gone through life, have u heard of ....

How or what u end up in, is more important than
how you started your journey ?
In history, there have been heros, in the beginning, very popular ! Hailed as so and so. Greatly been respected, basked in glory! But in the end, when they die, they led a sad, miserable life.

Another trend i found is NUSHie alumni are pretty quiet in their achievements probably coz they hold positions that require them to protect what they are doing. If you do a search on Linkedin you may then discover the type of univerisity, companies, positions the graduates from NUS High is now holding. That will be the best testimony.

The 1.30pm is only 1-2 days in a week, 6pm is also 1-2 days in a week. Yeah, cannot expect to go home early especially top schools. Academic must perform, enrichment, electives and CCA also must perform because top schools teachers always want to push over the limits.
Are you NUSH parent? I doubt its NUSH Culture to \"PUSH\" kids over the limits leh.. rather in NUSH culture its always to allow NUSHies to explore their passion, interests and excel in their area. Its always been this way, its actually the kids who pushes themselves. There are those who dont even take honours or 4th major or electives and teachers dont ask or push. So i dont think that was an accurate statement of NUSH culture. More like some parents who think their kids are in top school (erm.. if they think NUSH is) and push their kids over the limit la..NUSH is like a place for NUshies to be themselves and in their own planet. They are free to be themselves without judgement or moulded in any form, conformed to the norms. So drop outs or not, i think its mostly coz its about suitability, some kids just cant suit, they prefer RI style or A levels style. No right or wrong. NUSH is totally different style, cant compare apple to orange.

Can I check what is selection ratio after pass 1st round NUSH DSA?
Traditionally,
Round 1 applicants all invited to take test about 2000++ to 4000 kids
Round 2 selected will be 400 kids
Final cohort size - 180 since 2022 including Asean scholars.

No one knows the ratio of CO to WL but some kids wil have to go through an interview again to decide if CO or WL while others is directly a CO or rejection. There will be a DSA preview traditionally for CO & WL kids to attend a day camp to see how lessons are conducted in NUSH.

If rejected and there are vacancies, SIE will take place right after PSLE results and interview will be conducted
before a CO offered and need to accept before you take part in open Sec school exercise.

May I ask is there differences in selection camp activities for NUSH science and math domain ?
No big difference . The school will ask you to choose either Maths or Science and use only 1 option out of your 3 options for DSA. However, if you think your child is stronger in Maths , just put Maths. With the onsite open house on 21 May, NUSH may revert back to the original selection process
1.Written test round 1
2. Round 2 camp.

This is more thorough than last 2 years online portfolio submission, IMO.

So, either Maths or Science domain no relative impact.

Good luck.

Sorry, sorry... must be my stupid aversion to anything biology that warped my thinking. By the way, does biology automatically links to medicine? Noob here.

Thanks for the info! I guess \"Science\" is a catch-all phrase which includes medicine then. As long as there are exciting options for students to aspire towards, it is ok.
Eh....sorry i blur..is this new? I tot Science always includes combination of Physics, Chem and biology? Many scientists works on medicine and vaccines etc.. how is it that Maths and Science students= Engineering only? and not = STEM including Science(phy, chem, bio), Technology, Engineering and Maths??? suddenly I machiam got brain freeze.. bam! hahahaha :imcool: :imcool: :imcool: :? :? cannot comprehend.. maybe WFH too long.

Anyhow, A levels or IB or NUSH Dip, as long as they are all passionate in that area and can contribute.. who are we to judge right? Doesnt mean All kids who goes into 1 school generally becomes that 1 occupation mah! If they abide by the Hippocratic Oath then we welcome medical students to help us fight viruses and diseases...

Congrats to the newly matriculated NUSHies!

I’m keen to join if there’s any! Thanks

I think only after PSLE results posting is out and confirmed, will most parents WA/Telegram chat be up.
Meanwhile, congrats with that precious CO from NUSH!

I created a Telegram group for the parents of those entering NUSH next year for Year 1.

Link: https://t.me/nush2022y1
Do ensure proper privacy protection and PDPA
Wow so fast.. I would rather have the confirmed psle results and posting letter in hand first..
coz some kids may get CO but choose other schools too and so technically not all are CONFIRMED NUSH parents???
