      RMLOVER:

My DD got 255 and would like to go for IP.

Need advice for the following school.

      1. MGS IP (IB)
      2. SCGS IP (A)
      3. NJC IP (A)

      Which school is better?
What are the pros and cons for IB compared to A?
      We are staying around CCK.

      Thanks in advance.

All in Bt Timah with MGS nearest to CCK by car, follow by NJC and furthest is SCGS. If distance is a concern, it's obvious MGS.

For IB and A Levels, you can refer to the IB Thread in this forum.

      What about SNGS in AMK?

      Just to add

MGS will later go to ACSI to complete the IB program, as will SCGS/SNGS go to Bishan for Y5 and 6.

DD got CO from SOTA.... till now still can't decide.... the school teacher reminded her this morning... the school office just called me at 3pm..... any help??

Your dd will be in an IB program, also learning fine arts, music, theatre or dance, and she did get a CO, so dd must be pretty good and likes what she does. otherwise she wouldn't have tried.

Hi ! Can someone help me . I remember I read somewhere here there is a private school bus to send students from sengkang & hougang students to NJC . My friend needs the contact nos . Thanks in advance .

Don't think there are any private bus service under NJC. I tried.

What you do is call NYGH or Hwa Chong school office and ask for their bus transport company. NYGH should be okay with this arrangement, afterall they are neighbours! Hwa Chong may stop at NJC-side to dropoff DCs.

I dont think they feel angry cos of entitlement but rather as in what went wrong.

to tell a 90 achiever that she is only worthy of a wl....I would think the likelihood is that such a child will think ny dun welcome...i can go elsewhere.

      Yes, you nailed it šŸ˜„

Indeed very easily misunderstood by most people as having entitlement mentality. But the truth is these girls felt that NY did not want them. For most 12 years old kids, that is how they perceived the WL.

Competition's too close between the two schools-even their open house day are on the same day! Even my girl rushed to attend both open house last year! That was fun! šŸ˜†

I guess at the end of the day - if the school is rated by popular academic reputation, they can be really selective in choice, and with its own criteria.

    • RE: IP SCHOOLS DSA (ACADEMIC) - AT A GLANCE

Good way of categorizing the DSA at a glance. There are more enquiries on DSA requirements. Brilliant!

I think it could go one better if its re-categorized by school? Could webmaster assist?

Can just staple results slips and certs to hand in? Need to put in proper file?

Yes you can. There is no need to put it in a folder, a sealed envelope is sufficient.

    • RE: Copy Contacts To Samsung S3, How?

      spicy:
      Hello

Would appreciate advice on how to transfer SMS & Watsapp messages from a Samsung S2 to the new S5 ? :?:

Heard that it is possible but how to do it... for a zero techie like me ? 🤷
For SMS use the Samsung Keis software that needs to be installed on your PC.

For Whatsapps look into whatsapps website for instructions to perform the transfer.

    • RE: All About Recreational Swimming

      Rain.:
Hi, I'm planning to take up swimming and will welcome any suggestions.

Right now, I'm considering these few.
      Speediswim, Swimfast and APS.

I want to start with the basics first, and might consider competitive swimming after. Is there a way I can complete this within a short period of time?

I took up swimming classes at Katong complex when I was in kindergarten,
but after completing kindergarten I'd never step foot in a pool anymore and thus forgetting everything 'bout swimming. šŸ˜ž

      I'm 14, turning 15 in November.
      Thanks for your help! šŸ™‚

P.S Am I perhaps too old for swimming?

      Regards,
      J
Never too old to learn to swim, and you never forget! Just have to practice!

Do consider swimfast. The coaches are very \"uniform\" in ensuring the kids DO practice to pass the test.

I have seen my dd do all the prescribed laps and strokes during her time and am amazed how all the kids had the stamina!

The coaches are also very encouraging, and cuz they have a few swim places, they do have an annual swim meet with medals! Even Quah Ting Wen showed up to support the kids!

As long as you can find time, practice your strokes and endurance - that is what the tests are about.
