(2) There were 12 more motorbikes than cars parked at a carpark. The total number of car wheels was 80 more than the total number of motorbike wheels. How many cars were there at the carpark?

Thanks Guru, got the one on bags/files/pens but cannot understand the other one. I don’t understand the part where you made the numerator the same ie 10.


I only know we try to make the denominator common but haven’t come across the idea of making the numerator common.

Q1. 464 pupils sat for an English examination. After 2/7 of the girls and 1/3 of the boys sat for the paper in the first session, the remaining pupils sat for the second session examination. The number of girls and the number of boys who sat for the second session examination were the same.

(b) How many boys sat for the English examination in both sessions?

Q2. Fabian spent 7/10 of his money on 6 pens, 5 files and 4 bags. He found that he could buy 3 similar pens and 2 similar bags with the rest of his money. How many files could he buy with 3/5 of his money?
