Have you tried any? I joined Maple Bear but am thinking of changing to Joy Little. I like Maple Bear for the environment and teachers but my child needs a more chinese environment. Would like to know more about Joy Little. Which childcare did you sign up for in the end?

I just called TAS up. They said that one of us could go down to pay up and then we can go individually to collect the books. Just need to state the full name or ksp name of the person you are getting the bundle of 10 with.

But aiyo really sorry ah cos shortly after I posted, there were many parents who pmed me and I sent my dd for chinese tuition just now and told some parents and they also wanted to join in so I have 10 already. My kid also under teacher Elaine. I get to hear what is going on in class because teacher Elaine’s voice is loud and from what I hear, she seems to use the points and rewards to motivate them but does not spend a lot of time on that. But my son sometimes will only mention about the points and prizes, I gather kids being kids tend to remember what seems fun.


For compo, I agree she does not give marks all the time and also he does not write out full compos every lesson. But I can see improvement because she focuses on training them part by part. For example, he used to be weak in linking so she focuses on that for a period using what she calls boardwork and she does not write out what he misses out but explains to them what is wrong. And from what I have seen, she gets them to learn the techniques by applying them across various compo topics rather then getting them to redo and do corrections on the same topic which I feel is better because I want him to know the techniques and not just write one particular compo topic very well.

Maybe need to talk to her and ask her to give more written feedback if you need?

Hi, parents that have kids joined TAS P5 or P6 regular class, may I know how much grammar and synthesis covered in the lessons? Sufficient for PSLE? Was it taught topic by topic with explained rules or just do mix questions like those mcq in assessment bk?

My kid is in P6 regular class. Every lesson the teacher covered grammar and synthesis. Most of the time, she would teach topic by topic and explain rules. Rules were explained clearly as my son could remember even the difficult ones and his synthesis and grammar improved. Other times, the teacher would revise by asking them to practise on their small whiteboards. She would give questions and they would show the answer using their white board.

We do not have a holiday programme in September, but we will be having one later in November / December. The schedule should be out by this week so do keep a lookout for it here and on our website.

Anyone had sleep apnea? I went to the hospital to do a sleep test. They put many sensors and wires on me to monitor my sleeping. They realised I was feeling tired because I couldn’t breathe properly due to nose congestion = poor sleep.

Out whole day yesterday with my friend. Watched two movies back to back at Lido.

Then went 爱琴海. Full house because 蔡礼莲 and 梦飞船 (minus 苏智诚）performed last night :rahrah: I've post two video at sleepy's chamber.

Gosh, have not reached home past midnight for the longest time :snooze:

So fun! Actually until now I have never watched two movies back to back before. Sua Koo
