DN (=Darling NIece) 's answer: To lower the temperature of the plastic sheet.
State the 4 major changes that have led to the water droplets being formed.
DN's answer: Hot water evaporates to form water vapour.
Plastic sheet loses heat to the ice.
Water vapour loses heat to the cooler part of beaker and plastic sheet
and condenses to form water droplets.
Is my niece's answer acceptable?

Hi Tisha,
Depending on the plant, chlorophyll can also be found in parts other than the leaves. For example, some cacti have their chlorophyll in their stems. -

May I know if Simple Machines is in the PSLE Science syllabus? Forces I checked from the MOE syllabus is included but I couldn't find Simple Machines and yet I find some questions from assessment books regarding Simple Machines like pulley system. Thank you.
Simple machines are not within the current syllabus. These assessment books you referred to are probably based on the previous syllabus and are not updated. -

Thanks for replying.
I am really confused about this question because the first 'experiment' in My Pals' Activity book (i.e. school's 'workbook' Activity 2.2 - Do plants move by themselves?) is this similar experiment (only 1 potted plant though) and under Conclusion, there is three line:-
1. Plants cannot move from place to place on their own.
2. Plants respond to changes around them by moving some of heir plant parts.
3. Some plant parts grow towards the direction of sunlight.
Hence we directly relate such experiment to one that tries to prove that 'plants respond to changes'.
The conclusion that \"Plant needs sunlight to make food\" (option 4) does not come from the result of the experiment. You would probably need a starch test done on 2 different plants (one under sunlight and one kept in the dark) to prove that plants need sunlight to make food.
The plant is responding to the light coming from the opening of the box and hence the conclusion that \"Plant can respond to changes\" is better. -

Condensation needs to happen on a cool environment (water vapour needs to lose heat). The air near the spout, like stated in your answer, would get too warm for condensation to occur. Since hot air rises, the hot water vapour rises until it is cool enough for condensation to occur.(b) Why did the \"cloud\" move higher and higher? (2 marls)
Answer given: The air above the spout got warmer and so condensation would like place higher where it was cooler.
Is the answer given correct? Could you pls help to answer part (b) of this question? TIA for your time and effort. Much appreciated.
