To add to my reply above, if a child loves music, is gd at it, think that a dsa sch can develop him/ her in that area, likes the music prog in that school, like the environment, culture, and other things offered by the school, then he/she should try for dsa in that school. If however, the child is well trained in music but does not enjoy it or does not like the dsa sch or its prog, then it would not be a gd idea for him/her to apply dsa in that sch. If you get into a sch through dsa in a specialised domain (eg sports , music etc), the sch would require you to keep to that domain. So if you apply dsa thru badminton you have to take badminton when you are in that sch. Similarly, if you apply dsa thru music, you have to take music. So a student who have difficulty coping with his academic subjects in sec, may find it very though as he/ she not only had to cope with the core academic subjects, he would still need to deal with his specialised program (eg badminton or music). He/she may find little time or energy to cope with both. So if one has doubt about being able to cope with the core subjects as well as the specialised area (eg music, sports), then one shld think twice abt applying dsa thru specialised domain. Note however, there are many sch who offered dsa (academic) and some do not require you to specify a niche domain. So you can get in thru dsa thru general (academic) selection tests and interviews. Hope that throws some light on dsa.

Firstly, how certain are you that it's a wrong decision? Your DS has not even started studying in his new sch.

If you have indeed made a wrong decision... it is not the decision of accepting the CO that your DS didn't want to accept. The \"wrong\" decision was applying for DSA for a school that he was not very keen in. I am always puzzled why people apply for Dsa and chose not to accept any CO. If one feel that one would regret taking up a Co because he has another prefered school in mind, then one should not even apply for dsa of those other schools in the first place. I am NOT saying that one shld only apply for one Dsa. What I am saying is that one should only apply for DSA of schools that one would not have doubt that one will regret accepting the CO. Dsa is not a process to test how gd one kid is... it is also not about trying to see how many COs one can obtain. DSA is about trying to get into school that matches one interest without relying solely on psle result. So one shld only apply dsa for schools that one would happily accept the co. Leave the other choices to S1 phase. Otherwise, you are not being fair to yourself and to others who wanted to get into those schools.

Just trying to understand the purpose of DSA. If it is for gaining entry to assumingly atas school using abilities and interests other than PSLE results, how is the child able to cope with the studies later on? My question also goes for affliation which has lower COP. Good example will be MGS, huge COP gap between affliation and non affliation. I know someone who got DSA into this school solely based on music abilities.

      Hi Peasants,
Firstly, don't assume that a kid who did not have v high T-score in PSLE won't do well in O or A Level or IB. Some may just have a bad day during psle and some may be late developers etc. Also dsa is not to gain entry to \"atas\" sch. Not sure which sch u had in mind when u say \"atas\". Dsa is to get into sch with prog that your kid is interested in. Also don't assume kid who get in thru dsa would not have gd psle results. In fact most have very good psle score. My child apply for 2 sch w prog she was interested in- art. She recd CO from one of them (btw not the sch w the highest cop in 2014) . For psle, she did very well and had a score that could get her into any sec sch, but she is still glad that she went thru dsa because it offered program that she like and she like what she learnt abt the sch thru the open house and the dsa interactions. So long as the students like about the sch, have confidence in themselves and work hard, they should be ok.

Pdh. Wow distinction for HMT. Impressive. Think the cop will be around that score this yr. So he still have a chance. All the best.

If your child has to collect from the FT in the classroom n parents have to wait outside, just ask yr child to sms the 3digit number (t score) as it usually takes a while for the child to get out of the classroom provided you can't wait to know the results.

      😄

Students are not allowed to use hp in class. Just ask your child to show his/her tscore to you using his/her fingers 😓

have waited for 6 yrs. Surely can wait a few minutes more.

If the passage is referring to the artpiece and to improve it, then it should be 改正不满。。。eg.将这不满的作品改正。。

my teacher said its cuo wu

I still think it's bu man. You must refer to the passage and not just because it fits.[/quote]Think it all depends on the sentence... strictly speaking...缺点goes with修正 and not 改正。。。 but if goes with single word 改.. or 改掉 then maybe more acceptable (possibly ). 改正 goes better with错误。 As for 不满。。。it means unsatisfactory. .. so its an adjective. .. and to go with 改正。。。it may need some other noun... eg把不满的地方改正过来。。。or 把不满之处改正过来。just my humble opinion.
