I basically just switched my foods mainly to anti-inflammatory food. Removing rice is a big thing, I switched to quinoa and have never looked back since. My skin has been under control with constant moisturiser and proper diet.

    • RE: Weight loss. How obsessed are you?

I am not very obsessed but I have definitely gone on diets and eating supplements when it comes to losing weight. To be honest, we are all looking for a quick fast method.

I definitely recommend AGAINST pills (please please do not go on this!) after reading about how these pills are unregulated and often cause some major damage to your health.

So, I stopped pills and focus on dieting. Of course initially I was starving myself because I thought that eating less would help but actually it made me hungrier and realised that it wasn’t about eating less, but eating right.

I actually followed a diet plan - Superlife Co’s HFFP routine that encourages 3 meals with quinoa packs and then cacao powder and water for beverage. Within 10 days, I lost 3kg being on this plan.

It’s crazy because I didn’t even feel hungry or craving for nonsense. It really detox my body and I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a cheaper, healthier weight loss method.

    • RE: Losing Weight via Slimming Centres

Mummies, it's not about eating less, it's about eating right. The food that you choose must be good, quality food that are high in nutrients. Especially when you are trying to lose weight, it's important to eat more protein and fiber. I switched my white rice to quinoa and avoid fried foods for a while and really saw a 3kg difference in 10 days.

The problem I have with slimming centres is because they remove the water weight and not necessarily your belly fat so that's why people appear \"slimmer\" but to be honest, the weight will come back if you do not continue so don't waste $$$.

Invest in your health by eating better foods yeah 🙂

    • RE: Is common type of cooking oil harmful?

I used either coconut oil or sesame oil to cook. After reading up on commercial brands like sunflower oil, canola oil etc. are extremely bad for health - I stopped immediately and switched. You’d be surprised how tastier the dish is with different kind of oils.

      I never looked back.

    • RE: Recipes For Healthy Eating

One of my favourites is to cook quinoa! Quinoa is a much healthier replacement to white/brown rice so I have completely switched out rice and replaced it with quinoa.

People are always shock at how easy it is to replace even with traditional dishes like Chicken Rice or I usually make my own version of fried rice with quinoa instead.

Here’s a recipe that goes well on any occasion:

      Ingredients:
      • 500-600g pumpkin
      • 1 red capsicum (optional)
      • 1/2 lemon
      • 1/2 cup Superlife Co. quinoa measured uncooked – I used white quinoa
      • 1 tbsp coconut oil
      • Salt and Pepper to season
      • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
      • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
      • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
      • 2 tsp honey

      Cooking directions:
      1. Pour the quinoa into the rice cooker (no rinsing required, yay!)
      2. Chop pumpkin into small chunks, about 2cm square. Add the pumpkin into the rice cooker.
      3. Pour 1 ½ cup of water into the rice cooker
      4. Add coconut oil, coriander, cumin, cinnamon into the rice cooker and leave it to cook.
      5. Once it’s cooked, let the quinoa cool slightly by fluffing it up so you get the best texture of the quinoa.
      6. Feel free to add more roasted vegetables as a side. We added capsicum in ours! End it off with drizzled lemon and leftover olive oil. Season salt and pepper for taste. Toss it all together and its ready to be served!

    • RE: What did you do for your health today?

      Michy79\" post_id=\"1938853\" time=\"1569897271\" user_id=\"165767:

I saw chia seeds at the supermarket yesterday. The salesperson told me about the benefits of adding chia seeds in your food intake. She mentioned a lot of stuff about it but all I can remember is she calls it a superfood. Does anyone of you here tried to chia seeds before?
Yeah Chia seeds is great and super easy to add into your daily routine. What I do is add 2 cups cold water, 1 tbspoon of chia seeds, a slice of lemon and honey and drink it every morning. Full of antioxidants! It may look weird but it's actually really good for your health, and doesn't taste much.

    • RE: Healthy snacks for kids??

If I can’t get fresh fruits, I will always give them freeze dried fruit chips. This is perfect for when they go on school excursions so they can snack on crunchy fruits.

Be careful though - some brands add preservatives, oil or sugar in it. My kids love Superlife Co’s Banana chips if anyone is curious! It’s sweet and crunchy, just as they like it.

    • RE: Recipes For Healthy Eating

This is my go-to recipe when it comes to healthy eating in like 15 minutes prep time.

Tomato Quinoa with Baked Tofu and Spinach
      Calories per serving: 345
      Serves: 2

      Ingredients

      – 100g White Quinoa, uncooked (I use Superlife Co. which is really, really different from the rest)
      – 200g Tau Kwa (extra firm tofu), dried with paper towel & cut into cubes
      – 20 Cherry Tomatoes
      – 125g Spinach
      – 320mL Water
      – 1 tsp Coconut Oil (I use SuperOne Organics)
      – Pinch of Turmeric Powder
      – Salt & Pepper to taste

      Directions

      1. Preheat your oven to 220*C.
      2. In a rice cooker, add in the quinoa, cherry tomatoes, coconut oil, a pinch of salt and water. Set to cook.
      3. Line an oven tray with baking paper and spread the Tau Kwa cubes on the tray. Sprinkle a pinch of salt, pepper and garlic powder on the Tau Kwa and place the tray in the oven. Let it cook for 20-30 minutes, or until the Tau Kwa is nice and golden.
      4. Once everything is cooked, it’s time to assemble! In two lunch boxes, add in equal amounts of tomato quinoa, baked tofu and spinach. Your meal prep is ready to be eaten!

    • RE: Anyone using coconut oil?

I do and I really encourage everyone around me to do the same too. I normally cook quinoa and I’ll add coconut oil into the rice cooker so that I get my daily dose of antioxidants plus it makes me feel full longer too.

Really recommend you guys to give it a try.

    • RE: Chia Seeds

I've been reading up on the benefits of Chia Seeds and have made it part of my routine. I think you should try cacao powder too. It helps in weight loss as well. Every morning, I make a cup of tea (usually green tea) and then add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and cacao powder. Have not sustained it enough to know if it works, but I do feel energised.

I get both my cacao and chia from http://www.superlife.co. They usually have good offers and discounts so I'll stock up in bulk.

      Hope this helps! 🙂
