RE: Club 2009 Kiddo
Hi Wonderkids, you can visit the enrichment thread for more info on enrichment classes for toddlers. For phonics, I think more common one are Zoophonics, Growing up Gifted.
Have you thought of letting yr kid enrol in playgroup, daily 2 hours lesson.
My boy attends childcare and he is also attending weekly Shichida class, which is a right brain training enrichment class. -
RE: Creative O
Hi Go to School,
My boy is also born in 2009! I suggest you visit the school and then discuss about waiting list issue after the visit. When I visited in June, the centre in charge told me long wait list, asked me to be on waiting list and they will get back to me. Eventually I did not because my boy is not toilet trained yet… Your boy toilet trained already??
I agreed I am very impressed with the school after visiting, esp their K1 & 2 classes. In K2, they visit old folks home every month! -

Hi Champion, :thankyou:
Hi RanRan, :thankyou: Is it your 1st child? Mine is 1st.
Hi Wonderkids, are you asking about enrichment classes? (sorry, memory very bad after child birth). For 2 yrs old, common enrichment classes are Phonics, Music, Right Brain training classes. -
RE: Club 2009 Kiddo
Hi Wonderkids,
do you want to join in club 2009 and we can discuss there? -

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
I strongly feel that there should be more differentiation between PR & Singaporean in the pri school registration system. Hope the new Minister of Education can look in this!
Many parents are so upset and dissappointed. My boy is a 2009 baby and already I am reading up and gathering information. What upsets me is to see this situtation of Singaporen fighting a primary school place with the PR. The 2 slips of ballot paper doesn’t really help much right?? PRs can come & go anytime but for Singaporean, this is our home and we cannot go to another home. The ridiculous thing is it is so easy to be a Singapore PR… -
RE: All About Active Community Leaders
Hi daddy2007,
Thanks for your reply!! 5 evenings per month is still acceptable, I can ask my mum to help out (she is old and I try not to trouble her too much). I thought it would be like 3 meetings per week kind of frequency, then I have big headache. Anyway, I just thought of my friend whose husband is a RC member in West Coast GRC too, (should have thought of it earlier), I shall ask her for more details!
Yes, I also thought of boundary being redraw in next GE. What I gathered from KSP forum is that for 2011, even the pri sch is under different GRC, but that does not apply for 2011 pri registration. So I hope this rule doesn’t change in next GE. PV is still the best way to go but must depends whether being selected or not… -
RE: All About Active Community Leaders
Mummy of 3,
Yr DS1 is which month bb?
Under Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, also Clementi? Then should be Clementi Ave 4 right? I remembered during GE 2011, I was confused when we drive along Clementi Ave 4, it is under Holland-Bukit Timah GRC but the rest of Clementi is under West Coast GRC. If it is Clementi Ave 4, definitely nearer to NHPS! but NHPS under West Coast GRC wor… then how??
For me, I have checked using one map service, there are total 4 pri schs within 1 km - NHPS, Clementi Pri, Pei Tong & Qifa Pri. Thus, my strategy is try to get a Phase 2b ballot chance in NHPS, if suay suay did not get in, then I will just go for Clementi Pri / Qifa pri under Phase 2C. -
RE: All About Active Community Leaders
Hi mummy of 3,
Thanks… Think I can wait till June 2012 then start to enquire cos my boy registration yr is June 2015. I will try applying for PV at NH 1st.
Frankly speaking, I am ok with a reasonable good primary school, not necessarily such a top school like Nan Hua. But I am staying more then 2 km from Fairfield Methodist… This would be my ideal 2nd choice of primary school
