    • All About Abacus Training

I have intended to send my son for abacus course, but the minimal age is 4 years old and mine is 3. Does any one send their kid to those mental abacus course before? Does it work and help in mathamatics abilities?

      super_dad:
Incidentally, perfect pitch is not a good thing to have...most perfect pitch folks live a tortured lives, in an imperfect pitch world :). They can literally be killed by sounds.

But the ability to \"see\" notes, is a useful one if one wants to pursue a career in music. However, most good musicians don't have perfect pitch either.
I came across lots of music training centres on the Internet that talk about training for perfect pitch. So is that a necessity for been a musician?

Been a musician in Singapore is hard to make a living, I would probably see it as a means to train children brain to make them more creative.

My kid is in pre nursery, kinderland, and they actually follows the normal school holidays. They do have holiday camps that last for 4 days. So I am looking for other activities for my kid. Heard that CDC have some holiday activities for kids, but more for primary and secondary students.

    • RE: Is mummy the better parent?

Quite true, my son will want his mum to put him to sleep instead of me. He does not like me to put him to bed when his mum is there. Any idea if this is always true and how to change that?

    • RE: Nature or nurture?

I have heard that a child under age 6 can be easily trained to acquire perfect pitch. The ability to identify the tone that you have just heard. I suppose you will need to send the kid to music training at the young age to unleash their music potential early in life.

I believe every kid have this in born talent. Any comments?

    • RE: Typing software

I learn my typing without any software. And when I looked at how my kid play computer, it is quite amazing, they just learn so fast, don’t even know how he did it.

    • RE: The *^&()! software doesn't work!

I have once bought some education software that does not allowed me to duplicate. The CD have some physical defect that was purposely created to prevent CD copying. And image my kid who is bound to scratch and destroy the CD sooner or later.

      Hated those kind of protection.
