Was your DS not feeling well just before the fits happen? my eldest DS was having flu when he had his 3rd fits episode (2nd due to dehydration cos of diarrhea). If the fits is not due to fever, then it’ll be diagnosed as afebrile fits. It also means that anything can trigger the kid until you find out what is his ‘trigger’ and control it.


You may want to keep a watchful eye on your DS so that if the next episode happens, you can time the duration of the episode. In fits, doctors are very particular about duration cos too long is not good for the brain. Not all fits show the jerking / eye rolling symptoms. my MIL had an episode last year when she just stared fixedly/blankly in one direction and did not respond for a few minutes. After that, she was sleepy also. my MIL also has epilepsy but hers is after the stroke so I’m kind of familiar with fits esp she’s been to the hospital 3x due to fits.

Hi Mummies, DS1 is in P2 this year. So far, ok… school standard wise is so-so. I have friends whose kids are in other schools so comparatively speaking, Cedar is ok only. Homework wise, not so much even in P2. In terms of spelling, also not too difficult.

But do take note that they will separate the kids from P2 onwards for the Chinese. DS didnt score well in Chinese during P1 hence he goes to a slightly easier class. He goes to another classroom for Chinese lessons. Dont think they do it for English & Maths.

P2 onwards, they encourage your kids to take up CCA but I think it’s not compulsory. DS is in robotics and there’s CCA sessions nearly every week. But we think the exposure is good for him…

Hi mindy, i also dont know what the ABC list is for. But I made my boy colour the first stack of sheet. Do you remember during orientation, we were given a sheet with the nos 1-5? I followed the instruction to make him write and cut but in the end, the teacher gave him a fresh sheet.


So now I just left the ABC and the maths sheet in his bag. I heard from my boy that he needs to know his BC no so as to log in to a computer… wonder what is that for… anyone here has any idea?

My boy is still quite blur so ask him also dont know. He also feedback to us that there’s a boy in his school bus that pinched him. He said that another boy told him that they both should go to the principal to ‘complain’ about the boy who pinches him. yet when I ask him what is the name of the other boy, he cant tell me! sigh… dont know whether to take him seriously or not…

Hi African Violet, I’m not sure if it’s compulsory to get the chinese magazine but i decided to get it for DS in case the school does use it. After all, the school shared that their pass rate for Chinese is 100% as compared to national average, hence, maybe that’s one of the resources that they used? hehehe… decided to be kiasu and get it for my son.


Lim_carmel, which after schl care is your child gg to? thinking of sending DS to one instead… he just waits for me to come home from work to ask him if he has HW. Cant afford to let this happen esp from Term 2 onwards when they start to have assessments.
