Attended NUS' \"Conversation with the Dean\" yesterday on Engineering at Tangs Marriot Hotel.

      It was very very crowded.

The most discussed was the new E-Scholar Engineering Programme, it's flagship 4-year engineering programme that comprises an accelerated 3-year Bachelor Degree plus 1-year Master Degree.

This replaces it's previous double-degree Global Engineering Programme.

Singapore students who are offered the course will be offered a scholarship automatically and the scholarship is equivalent to NUS' most prestigious Global Merit Scholarship.

Students who are called up for interview must have stellar academic results. Critically they must pass the interview as well.

The E-Scholar programme only takes in about 60 undergraduates each year and will be given close mentor support specially chosen by the Dean.

They will be given the choice to stay in their newest Residential Collage RC-4 or the USP, which focuses on different academic studies.

Is your DS offered a place.? Any string attached if the scholarship is accepted?

Yes. He has been offered a place in E-Scholars Sxholars.

The scholarship is bond free and covers 4 years up to their Masters degree.

But the scholarship is only given to Singaporeans.
Hi, so have he received any respond from NTU Renaissance engineering? So will he give up the NTU seat since he already received offer confirmation from E-scholar?

300 students means including those on wait list?

Think 300 may include prospective students for future batches?

I think nus result will be this week. Let’s wish them whoever apply nus medicine/denistry successful. Kindly update here if he/she receives the offer from nus medicine/dentistry.

My guess will be this Friday 4th May based on the reference of previous batches. Good luck to all.

      Anxious Being:
      Hi there,

Can anyone advise on the process? How would NTU LKC waitlist move fast if results for NUS YLL will be out only in early May and the students will be given about a month to decide, which brings it to early June. Also, those who get accepted by both unis and decide to choose NUS are not required to reject NTU, which means NTU can only provide confirmation to those on waitlist after the acceptance dateline. Does this mean those on NTU LKC waitlist will only get the confirmation by June/July? In addition, I know of students who applies for Med as 1st choice, then Law/Dentistry. Will students of such be offered both Med and Law/Dentistry at the same time? Many thanks.
I did read from some past postings that someone on the LKC waitlist did receive offer as early as 2nd or 3rd week of May before the Joint Acceptance close.

Any idea on the success rate of wait list being offered?

Heard the conversion rate from wait list to confirm offer is pretty high. But do not have the estimate figure. Maybe can check with LKC admission on the past data.

LKC just sent out wait list letter to my son.

Chances of getting your LKC waitlist converted to an offer are very high. Reason being most with offers from both unis will choose YLL over LKC.

I hope so. Do u have any idea from your knowledge what is the success rate of those LKC waitlist candidates?

Did they mentioned how many is on the rejection list? With that we can know the number on wait list.

According to LKC, ard 50% of the shortlistee will get offer from both Uni, that would mean ard 200 will get double offers.
But I think what we are interested is based on past batches, how many of the wait listers will eventually got an offer. (% of success rate)

Understand that there is also a rejection list that will be send out.

Yes. LKC told me there are offered, unsuccessful and candidates on waitlist. So got 3 categories. So not all applicants attended MMI are placed on waitlist
