Hi, I am considering SGPS for my boy in the 2015 Pri sch intake.

Any reviews on the school wrt homework load and CCAs and any idea when their open house will be? thanks!!:)
Homework fr P1/P2 I think its quite reasonable. CCAs depends on your son's interest. School niche is football and badminton.

Open house is scheduled in 30 May 2015, (9am to 12pm) after Term 2.
Check out the school webpage for latest update.

Hi Parents I am interested to get my son (2017 intake). Would appreciate if anyone can advise me whether is it better to do PV? Not sure if under 2C need to go thru balloting a not.

For the past 2 years for 2014/2015 intake, no balloting under phase 2C.

We have our 1st Child got into SGPS in 2014 and we did not participate PV.
And we are staying outside 2km from school.

      Hi Parents,

Can any parent enlighten me on the school hours? Apparently, it’s not mention on the school website.

      TIA!!

      It should be from 0730AM - 0130PM.

Recess time varies for the different levels.
P1 usually should be earlier than the upper levels.

CCA time also varies depending on which one you signed up.

For P1, you can start CCA.

      For your info.

      Hi,

Do the parents or the child have to be a catholic to enroll in the school?

      Thanks.

      No need.

Am also surprised (but relieved) that the school didn’t have to ballot for 2C. Can’t imagine going thru more stress and anxiety…

Noticed that there’s not very much going on in this forum, which explains why not many people, including me, knows anything more about the school, apart from the general info posted on its website.

We all have our boys’ interests at heart, so perhaps more parents can participate here and, hopefully, with more exchanges, help the kids do well/even better in school.

Hi to all successful parents entering SGPS in 2015, a big congrats to u all.

I have my DS now in Primary one and he is enjoying so much in school.

Soon he will complete his first year and I can says he has learned alot and experienced many great stuffs organised by the school.

Not only teachers are wonderful, I must also add that the school management team including principals are very helpful and responding.

Of course with the varities of CCAs to choose from, my DS has the opportunity to pick up a unique sport many other schools may not have provided and would have to cost more if chose to pick it up outside school. The game is golf.

DS also make lots of friends not only from his own class but also from his other classes.

I like the mentorship / buddy system which the school introduced in the beginning of the school term which helps DS to gain confidence and making us parents more assured he is being looked after.

For those who required after school care, morning star will be a good option and it is inside the school so security and safety wise is ensured.

School bus routes covers all over the island so should not be a problem for those living far. Though DS wakes up very early to catch school bus.

I hope the above gives you all a little information and some guides what SGPS has and can provide and of course to share my own personal experience with the school. Overall, we are delighted and confident that this is the right school for our DS.

I wishes all of you a successful and fruitful journey for your DS in SGPS.
      God bless all of us.

Cheers and looking forward to all of you to this school.
