    • RE: Where/How to take photo for baby's passport?

      thanks, everyone! πŸ™‚

i'll try the white cloth nappy first cos i'm afraid dd2 may roll over and destroy the mahjong paper with her drool.

as for baby pics package, we only did tt for dd1. can't be bothered for dd2. πŸ˜‰ anyway, dd2 looks very different from her newborn pics now.

my dd took her first passport photo in a nearby photo shop when she was only 1mth. if i remember corretly, parent was allowed to hold baby behind a light color blanket. u can check with the photo shop first....

You mean, cover the parent with a blanket? :?

I DIY-ed both my kids' passport photos. Just need to make sure that required features are seen (I think forehead, some neck) and it's white background. Very easy. Use low res cos the ICA website cannot handle too large a file. Best of all, you can keep clicking away until you have a nice photo.

I did DS2's photo when he was very small - neck barely able to support. No issue. I think I placed him on top of a mahjong paper so he's actually lying down. πŸ˜›
Thanks! πŸ™‚ The mahjong paper idea is very appealing. πŸ˜‰

(Yes, I know about the low-res rule cos I had to edit the res on my own photo before the site accepted my application. πŸ˜› )

Hmm... united square and goh sin huat. i will go check it out. thks to verykiasu2010

the one at united square is called mega discount store. we went there recently to get our new fridge. the sales staff and delivery staff are very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. there is another branch at katong mall which my friend went to. (she was the one who recommended this store to us.)

btw, when i was there, i saw a tefal oven on sale but my friend told me not to get tefal. she has one and she says that she has to check and turn her food over every now and then to make sure it cooks properly.

    • RE: Where/How to take photo for baby's passport?

Hi! There's a chance that I may travel with my baby (now 6 months old) at the end of this year. I would like her to have her own passport. My older girl only made her passport when she was 4 so I don't know where to go to get a shot of my baby for her passport. I always go to a photo shop nearby to take my passport photos but I don't know if they can make passport photos for babies too. (For example, how to get baby to sit still and look at the camera long enough for the shot to be taken.) At the moment, she can't sit up on her own yet so is it better to wait till she can do so before I bring her for the photo session? Many TIA! πŸ™‚

any recommendation of gd primary school?

thinking whether to shift house to the preferred sch for my daughter P1 registration.

Pls advice on the best sch in Sin.

      thnx
This is kinda difficult to answer as what is good is subjective. What are you looking for (academics, CCAs, culture, affiliation, SAP, etc)? Are you willing to move anywhere in Singapore? Does your budget and lifestyle allow for it? Popular schools are difficult to get in, even if you live nearby so are you able to \"jump queue\" using your or your partner's old school. doing PV, etc? Do you want a girls school or coed school? The list of questions is actually never-ending. πŸ˜„

Supposing your child did very well in his/her exams or else have achieved a medal in some sports, then you can write in to the school to ask if you have any chance of getting in.

This works better in your favour if the achievement is one of your targeted school's niches.

    • RE: Do you give tips to your hair stylist?

The hairdresser I go to is located in a neighbourhood shop so it’ll be very "weird" to tip them. I’m already a regular customer and I even bring my DD1 there for her haircuts since they know exactly how to cut her hair (she takes ballet). When DD2 is old enough, I’ll be bringing her there too.

As for the mini Michelins... mine were both

breastfed and both were indeed mini
Michelins... in fact DD1 still is... till
      today!
Well, DD1 was not breastfed past the 4th month so I didn't know, especially since she can rival a bamboo pole now (138cm at 26kg). I suspect DD2 will be bamboo too, if she can never be non-active even when sick, like her jie-jie.
