Hi, I think every school does things differently. My kids had very little work/spelling etc when they were in p1/2. Friends' kids in neighbourhood schools have tons of work/tests the minute they started p1.

Also it is pretty normal for people to drift apart when they go in different directions and in this case is different school. However there are also people who are snobbish. And maybe you are better off without this group of friends. However this could also be a misunderstanding and you are over sensitive abt people looking down at your child being in a neighbourhood school.

the most important thing is your child must be happy and learning in school. The journey is long and you are at the starting point. Don't freak out now.

As to being afraid that the child is losing out to those who have more homework/tests etc, I am sure the school will prepare the child well for Psle.

Don't even think of buying and doing all the assessments books / popular schools exam papers so as not to be on the losing end. This is damaging to the child and parents.

Is there netball CCA in NCPS?

Don't think so. You can refer to the school website or the below link on the recent Principal's talk.

:thankyou: Parents for all the advice. Have spoken to her Form teacher and MT teacher, they will discuss with the committee. We will let her drop if she can't cope next year...

What is the school recommendation?

My P4 DD scored band 1 for her Chinese and ME for HMT.
The school does not recommend HMT for P5 in her report book.
We stick to the recommendation to give her less stress.
For your reference.
I see...same goes with my dd but she did not get band 1 for her Chinese. My hubby thought that should let her give it a try...since there is option available. Am just worry whether she can cope...stress... 😓

3Boys:
They changed their make-up lesson policy for 2015. Only 2 make-up per 16 weeks lessons which i find insufficient as:-

1) 16 weeks lesson is longer than the typical 10 weeks in TH which also allows 2 make-up.
2) Lessons are on-going throughout holidays (break in jun n dec agak only 2 weeks) which unlike TH where u have a choice if u want to do the holiday program or free up your time.

Anyone has concerns on this new rule and feedbacked to Berries?

Yes, I agree it's not quite enough, and the branch I am at has really limited slots for certain levels anyway. I have not provided feedback though.

I feedback le. Must tell them my disagreement with their 2 out 16 change. Told them they shd up to 3 or 4 to be 'fair'!!
Ya..I had voice out my disagreement and asked for solution should we exceeded the 2. The staff told us that they will provide the learning material for the lesson missed. Not a fair solution...imo
