    • RE: Outdoor Classes / Curriculum for Kids

      Hi

Does anyone know of an outdoor activity/ education provider?
Something for the weekend, learn about nature and not the usual sports related?
Neither am I looking for indoor enrichment classes as my kids are in childcare, so they are indoor everyday. Am hoping let them be in the great outdoors in the weekends.

      Any other like-minded parents?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Anyone uses lemon as drink on regular basis for kids above 6 years old? I chanced upon it when my kid's school teacher recommended to put in sliced lemon into their water from bottle. Since then, I boiled two sliced of lemon in water for at least 5mins (for hygiene purpose) and dilute it with cooled down drinking water. My kids bring this to school quite often, and it seems that their cold/flu did not reoccur. Recently read that lemon is acidic and may not be good for teeth if take them too regularly. Anyone can advise if this is true?

I also read from internet that honey is good for reducing phlegm. What do you think?
How about ginger? Is cooking ginger water better than lemon water?
      Good idea, may try! :).
My only concern is dental health. It is not so good for kids to drink lemon water the entire day coz it can erode the enamel which protects teeth from tooth decay...

      Hi mommies

I have an Oct 2011 ds. šŸ™‚ from marine parade area.
Anyone know of an outdoor program for kids, other than playing sports?
Hoping to find out if there are alternative programs that are outdoor, since he spends most of his day indoor at childcare.

      Thanks! šŸ™‚

Hi for the timer rice cooker, is there any rice cooker that has multiple functions?

      - cook rice
      - timer function
      - steam another dish
so that two birds killed one with stone, then just need to cook soup and veg. šŸ™‚

I thought most if not all rice cookers have such functions

I can time so that the rice is cooked at say 7.30pm

When the rice is done ie no more water, you can put your plate of veg or meat in it

      Hi starlight1968sg
sorry I so swakoo. Mine is the really basic one. hee
Can i cook both the meat and rice together in the digital rice cooker? Or not advisable.

      hi

I am new to this thread.
My 5yo son walks around perpetually with a drippy nose and I attribute it to childcare since there is always someone unwell in their midst.
Are there any habits/ natural remedies to recommend?
I usually try not to give him drugs, if not he will be taking them all the time.
Looking forward to hearing your advice, thank you.

      Have you consulted doctor?

my son was like that when he was 3 years old. I brought him to see doc. he was fine after taking medicine for a short period.

Hope your child will get well soon.

      Hi siling,
have not consulted our dr. Dr always prescribes the usual medicine we already have and antibiotics...
so not too keen on seeing him, that's why looking for natural remedies. šŸ˜›
