@Eddisema no body ask u to sit in the sun mah... sitting at the SSW in a hot aftnoon cfm like oven wat :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

The concourse and LT area quite okay tho, always studied there fm aftnoon till nite and is usually breezy without the fan. Quite sure u nvr tried those areas.

Actually building age not dat significant for top tier JCs, as long as environment and facilities are okay. (HCI, VJ, NJ. NY, RI are all okay for me actually in terms of environment. Im sure EJ will be similar also judging fm the design plan)

Maybe this might help too ๐Ÿ˜„ :

\"An alternative is white vinegar. The acidity of the vinegar will help to break down the body oils and sweat absorbed by the fabric.

To use it, soak white clothing in a tub of warm water and one cup of white vinegar for about 30 minutes before washing as usual with laundry soap. White vinegar also helps to get rid of musty smells.\"

On rainy days the morning assembly is either at the hall or the classrooms. (As long as it starts drizzling during the event assembly will be cancelled. Won't stand in the rain lah ๐Ÿ˜‚ )

Regarding HCL if u got A2 or B3 (up to B4) for CL in sec 3, they advise u to drop coz securing A1 for CL is securing one of the subjects in L1R5. But u can continue to take HCL (esp if u wasnt conditioned for CL and u know u can do well in yr 4). Just don't submit the drop form even if the chers ask abt it. They will utimately respect ur decision. ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually for some of us combined sci is one of the ways to secure a place in those top few JCs, esp if we really cant get A1s for the pure sciences. (Coz L1R5 is the one dat matters)

Just nid to make sure dat the sci subj dat u nid to take H2 (perhaps for ur career) still remains as pure sci. For sci stream can just take H1 for the sci subj dat u combined at o lvls once u get thru into the JC.

Morning assembly and flag raising is at 7.20am sharp (btw the sch is very strict at punctuality issues :p). 1st lesson usually starts by 7.50. For yr 1 and yr 2 timetabled lessons end at 1.45pm, yr 3 and yr 4 ends at 2.30pm, except Weds due to weekly assembly. (not sure whtr there is changes to timing as is quite a few yrs back for me ๐Ÿ˜„ )
Heard Nan Chiau High is strong in sciences...

Does the school offer 3 pure sciences along with SAP Bi-cultural Programme? ๐Ÿ˜“

Yes there is. 2 classes are offering 3 pure sci each yr.

The SAP Bi-cultural Programme is alongside all the subjects throughout the 4 yrs, so techinically it don't interfere with any of the subject combi. ๐Ÿ˜„

Huh? Meaning is like SAP is is like another academic subject, or like is like enrichment programme laidat? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ :o
I would say its leaning more towards an enrichment for us bah. Is abit like part of the curriculum (u can visualise it like the academic modules in uni (shd b a close resemblance), so Bicultural prog modules are slotted along with the \"core\" modules). So last time our time table had dedicated slots for CI (aka cultural intelligence) lessons such as ไธญๅŽๆ–‡ๅŒ–ๅฒ็•ฅ...(Not the kind of boring lectures. Is quite project based)

In year 1 and 2 we will go thru most of the stuffs including ๅ“่Œถ, appreciating literary works (my batch got to view 2 Chinese literary works ใ€Šๅฐ็™ฝ่ˆนใ€‹andใ€Š้ฉฌ่‰ฏใ€‹), making traditional name stamps...

At yr 3, the programmes will be more personalised (so basically u get to choose the programmes u want to join, as long u meet the reapective requirements of the programmes). The sch would also reach out to us for intern and comp opportunities.

For me I was in sci talent programme so I did NYP research and went for the SAP-Shanghai Science symposium with frenz fm 7 other SAP schs. (There was another sci symposium trip to Kyoto but I chose Shanghai coz get to interact with other SAP sci students).

If not wrong thr is a SAP Bi-cultural Scholarship by Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan that we can apply. If sucessful the scholarship will cover all the costs for any sch immersion trips (think also cover external enrichments, forgot alrd)

I graduated 4 yrs ago so not sure whether the programme had changed haha. U can ask the chers during the openhouse tmr. ๐Ÿ˜„

Hi a qn to parents staying in Woodlands area, what is the usual time kids will travel if take 161 or 965 in the morning? Heard is quite fast.... Will it be packed? ๐Ÿ˜“

Heard its sheltered all the way dats great! ๐Ÿ˜„
Fm woodlands interchange 161 is around 30 minutes (sometimes can go down to 25 mins) to the Blk 201CP bus-stop, while 965 is around 45-55 minutes with transfer to 372 at the stop bef Sengkang MRT. One thing is dat 965 go thru Admiralty so if u happen to live arn thr den 965 will b alrite (cut the timing above by 10 mins).

In the mornings 161 timings is 5.45, 6.00, 6.15, 6.30 (the latest bus to catch to get to sch on time), usually its quite easy for me to find a cozy seat at upper deck fm interchange in the morning, quite quiet and smooth and is a gd time to revise. Can choose to transfer to 372 at the stop before Sengkang MRT to get to the sch side gate directly. I dont take 965 dat often so not too sure abt the timings. ๐Ÿ˜‚
