Out of the 10 schs in Punggol, Ponggol Green is much more popular then Mee Toh. Anyone knows the reason why?

I stayed jus opp PG, but I do not dare to try to ballot n chooses PV instead. 200m more away.

Thought you already know the answer (or the question had already been answered before).

Go to onemap.sg and use \"find schools near a building\" function. Pick any of the Matilda projects, or Punggol Opal, or Punggol Topaz. Take a look at the options available to the people living there.

Now, pick another project within 1km of MTS (anyone will do). Take a look at the options available to the people living there. You will get your answer.

If Valour didn't take away some heat, Punggol Green numbers would even be higher because those living in parts of Maltida / Sumang would have no where else to go.

Opps... oh ya... think i answered this question before too....haha.... So I guess this is the only main reason. I actually oso hearsay before that they have a very good principal oso.... but it seems recent results of the sch are normal only....

Online info shows 175 vs 131. if total is around 144 SC <1km, does this means most likely 31 applicants, who are likely between 1-2km, will drop out and go elsewhere?

Cool down and focus your energy to knowing your risk threshold and what is the backup plan. At the rate you are going, your brain going to burst in flames.

Roughly 200 pax havent show face in punggol per the numbers yesterday.

As of noon, there were 192 registrants.. 152 Are SCs within 1km. HPS didn't want to reveal the figures. Not helpful since I am pondering if I should drop out of the ballot (MTS) and go HPS at the last min. But since I have no info, might as well stay put and hope for the best.
I went in the afternoon at around 3.30pm and the same information is being given to me... 152 within 1km... however, I did not clarify if these are all SCs. Triple check my address and confirmed it is outside 1km (missed by 2 blks).... and walked away liao.... 😓

(sorry I'm very new and I'm using phone to reply and it's challenging so I'm gonna use the quick reply)

@Silve8 - My hub did a check. Indeed <1 km requires balloting. As of this morning 144 within 1 km. So yes, as Lexy said, it's a certainty. Pls don't waste your 2C. All the best to all the parents (2019 P1 reg) , including me! 🙏🏻

Hence, relax and wait for the dust storm from the initial disturbance to settle first. People with one or two options make up their mind very fast (no choice). People with too many options become confused (too many choices) 😂

No offence to anyone and Valour Primary but I find it surprising that 125 people (!) are willing to consider a school that cannot be seen (I’m actually looking at it right now), only been heard and with very little info available. Unless... these 125 people have some knowledge that we didn’t know.

I am also very surprised. However, I guess it is mainly cos Valour and Green are the only pri sch within 1km for those staying at the end of Sumang area... so since green is so fully booked, majority go for valour...

Totally understand the concerns of those staying over in those Matilda’s projects. Notwithstanding, given that Punggol Cove is 92 for 122 and Punggol View is 78 for 121, ie their next 2 nearest schools in Punggol, I do expect some applicants for Valour will have a change of heart. Valour may be nearer but it’s not necessarily easier to get to. Should have some more movement over these 2 days.
May not necessarily easier to get to means they may even need to ballot? So is it still safe to go for PVPS in 2C and Valour as backup in 2CS? Dilemma now....

Don’t bother about stats for Punggol schools. High density estate with a huge number of projects that sprout over the last few years, plus cookie cutter primary schools without distinct character at the moment (except MTS), there will be a lot of movement and changes year-to-year.

Expect a lot of movement as parents work out their odds and favorite / alternatives. For your reference, my old place in Punggol has SEVEN schools within 1km and SEVEN schools between 1-2km. So my (ex-)neighbors would have plenty of options and decisions to make 😂

Haha... my current place is 5 sch within 1km and almost 11 between 1-2km.... but choices still seems limited cos it seems all <1km heading for balloting... 😓

any 2018 stats for punggol schools? I not sure wat impact will it have since the moe kindergarten thingy kicks in in 2018. Or stats should be roughly the same?

Understand... so meaning can go for PG & PV for 2C and leave Valour as backup for 2CS quite safe bet?

Me staying outside 1km of Mee Toh but within meters from Punggol Green. Although I guess both need to ballot, I am worried that I may not even get a change to ballot at MTP. Any advice?

anyone registered at Mee Toh school today?

We went ahead MTS (,<1 km) but looking at the registration (175?), My heart turned cold. 😞

Did u reg for MTS or PG in the end?

I have not registered any yet... but based on advice given, balloting is already required for <1km.... me outside 1km, heart freeze liao…. So will go register elsewhere ba… Did you go to MTS to check with them on the status of applicants? Like if they are all within 1km?
