I think that's being over-protective....maybe to the point of neurotic. How would they react if their child is kissed on the hand/forehead by someone whose background kissing is a social courtesy? I do know of a husband who went beserk after his wife was kissed on the cheek by an angmo as part of greeting. That guy is really siao. It's not a real kiss lor, just making a smacking sound only.

There is a guy (of indian origin) who asked DS1 to grab a ball, and then he GRAB and HOLD TIGHTLY DS1 hand while performing magic. (The magic is: He asked DS1 to hold the ball with a hand, and then he held another ball on his own hand, and then the ball on his hand magically appeared in DS1 hand, so DS1 has 2 balls).)

It is in a very public place, and he held your son's hand for a very valid purpose, to perform a magic trick. I guess the purpose of holding his hand tightly, is to distract him from the \"magic trick\" that's going to happen. From what i see, there doesn't seem to be any ill intent. If the trick is to be performed on you, would u have screamed molest? Personally, if i see the trick performed on someone, and the person screams molest, i would think that person is psycho.

Btw, what's the purpose of stating the person's racial origin?

Ironically, it’s those FTWP who made the wonderful decision to become SAHP, that will face this prob.


After a few days of full interaction with their own children, they might decide they’re better off working, since "they ain’t cut out to be SAHP"…it’s just the transitional period!!

There’s a difference interacting with them almost the whole day, and "2 or 3 hours of quality time after work". Like i said earlier, there’s no such thing as "quality time". U can’t have quality without quantity, when it comes to spending time with your own kids.

Piercing at such a young age will not be aesthetically pleasing later on, as the child's earlobes will still grow and change in shape, u might find the ear-hole moving up or to a weird position.

Many nerves criss-cross our body, especially at our earlobes/ears. The piercing might influence the health/body in subtle ways we might not be so aware of. I know of a semi-retired businessman. He slipped on the wet floor at his condo pool, fell and hit his head on a metal bench and became comatose. While he was in a coma, he suffered a stroke. Despite having insurance, his family had to sell their condo and use up all their savings to treat him. Total expenses almost $1M AFTER INSURANCE. Guess what, he died 6 months after discharge.

My own grandmother is still around, 93 years old this year. She retired without a single cent in her pocket almost 40 years ago. (in the old days, people retire young lol) Now she’s still around, hobbling around on her walking stick and scolding everyone. She really doesn’t need money, all her 9 children, each contribute $50 monthly, enough for all her needs. She’s healthy and doesn’t require any medication, except calcium supplements.

All the "you need at least $1M to retire" is all part of a grand plan by "financial advisors" to make u feel worried all the time, and park your money with them, so u will be "secured" in old age. Pui. The financial institutions can’t even secure their own future, want to secure yours/ours?

And "retirement" is really a 21st Century urban myth. In the old days, after people stopped their jobs, they were "employed" by their children to care for grandchildren, cook and what not. That was what kept my grandma healthy and fit, lots of manual labour, even into her 80s.

Everytime i see those overweight and lazy 60 year olds talking about retirement, i see a couple of pigs oinking away. The sooner society gets rid of the concept of "retirement", the better it is for everyone. Nobody will be in a rush to save up, people won’t make risky investment decisions, people stop having so many frowns and furrows on their faces, society slows down and is happier.

For myself, the day i "retire" is the day i step into my coffin. At current life expectancy of 80+ years, to totally stop work and laze around for 15 years, is a crazy idea born out by lazy pigs.

If a parent is \"not suitable\" to spend alot of time with their child, then how are they even suitable to be a parent in the first place?

People are not born parents, they become parents.

I know of a young couple, who TOTALLY abandoned their child to the grandparents and maid....and now, they claim they're \"simply not good with kids\". Duh.

The more time one spends with his/her child, the better parent he/she will become.

It is all about being there for your kid emotionally and spiritually and not just physically.

Although a parent can be present physically and absent emotionally, there's no way u can be absent physically and present emotionally.

I still maintain that it's best for the children if a parent can stay at home, depending on family circumstances. This doesn't mean all SAHP are good and all FTWP are bad, but if possible, a SAHP would do wonders not obvious immediately.

Afterall, a simple question will do: If u only have one hour left to live, would u choose to be in the office, or beside your child?

Hi everyone! I was molested and got flashed before. Sigh! I m really unlucky!! I was molested when I was P6 in a public swimming pool. A teenage boy touched by backside. All these defense stuff like going for the groin, etc are easier said then done. When attacked from behind, will you still have the presence of mind to execute your defence moves? And what if the guy has a knife to your throat? And the fella will not grab you and stand still, he will grab you and drag you causing you to lose your balance, how to kick?


Learning self defence technic is good but do not be lulled into a false sense of security just because you know a few moves or you have a can of pepper spray in your bag.

Best defence is still prevention. If you know that it is late and the area that you need to be in is deserted, try to get someone to accompany you, get your father, brother, boyfriend, husband or even your teenage son, to pick you up. Be alert and be aware of your surroundings. Too many a times, I see people walking with their ipods plugged into their ears, even if the attacker give a war cry before attacking, these people will still be oblivious.

Majority of molest cases do not happen at night, nor in totally deserted places, nor by total strangers
