I have heard of cases where parents managed to secure a place in "good schools" but they were subsequently asked to transfer to other schools as children can’t cope with schools’ standards. Isn’t this detrimental to the innocent kids? I personally prefer the Hong Kong system; children get admitted based on their own merits and results of assessment.
