      Hi Thundertomb

I had enrolled my DD for N1 in Bloomberry since July. So far, I am quite satisfied with the school. I find that their curriculum are well covered, and my child started with alphabetic zoo phonic, which she likes it alot. She came home, playing as teacher, trying to teach me alphabetic zoo phonics.
I get back my DD’s portfolio twice a month, so I can see what she has done in school. The teachers feedback that she loves to do craft works, which make me consider sending her to some extra craft enrichment program during the weekends.
Very importantly is that I find their principal and teachers work very closely together, instead of each minding their own business. And the small teacher-child ratio was also my one of my main consideration. Everytime, I picked her up from school, the children seems so happy together with their teachers. I also like that I can drive up to the sheltered entrance and then go in to pick my DD up, like a boss.
I agree with you that the price is quite reasonable. Mindchamps is going to be opened very near, and heard their fees are crazy high. Well, I find that Bloomberry offers more than Mindchamps at a more affordable fee. Plus, Bloomberry has an infant care next door, which will be even better for me when I am having my next child…

      Cheers.

There's a new Childcare centre at Redhill (opposite ABC market). Saw a banner that they were having a preview launch today, so went in take a look.

The place is very spacious. They allowed my child to play with the teachers, good that she likes them. Another point that I like is that it is on the first floor and beside a sheltered driveway, I can drive to the door and drop off my child. They also got provide a personal sleep cot, other centres use PVC mattress, which is better?

Am considering in signing up as they are having early bird discount.

They told me that the official launch date is 21-Jun-2014. (They sms me this) http://i61.tinypic.com/2uxtkkl.jpg\">

The centre's name is Bloomberry. Below is the link to their website.

Hope to share experiences from others on this centre.
      :thankyou:

The form teacher, Miss Carolina Tan, has told us to send an email to her. So I am guessing that she will send updates to us via email. Do you have WhatsApp? There's one WhatsApp group already started, that I know of, which I will ask my wife to inform the group admin to add you in.

      Hi all RGPS P1 parents,

Noted from school notice to parents that EVERY cards on the Chinese Studies flash cards must be pasted with our child's Chinese name (it's crazy I know but I guess the school has it's own reasons and I know that).

Anybody knows where we can get custom made Chinese name stickers?

      Thanks,
      NoName

      Hi NoName,

I also received a note from the chinese teacher that we need to paste the name behind every character card. I ordered name stickers from this website called yournamesticker.com. You can have both English and Chinese name printed on the stickers. You can also put her class if you want. There are different sizes for the stickers. I feel that the small sticker is sufficient for the character card. 100 pcs of small stickers for $4. Very easy n fast to paste on the cards. When you order online, u can receive it within 2-3 days by post.

I have made a name stamp/chop for my DD. Can I stamp/chop her name instead of using stickers?

      Mawar:
What are some places to skate? Can the heels take rougher terrain ie cement paths?

I let my daughter learn heeling at my HDB's void deck and corridors, both tiled and cement surfaces. Just let the child knows its ok to fall down, have to learn how to fall the right way.

      hi,

anyone knows where can i join workshops or find trainers for kids to teach them how to heel?
I'm afraid there's none. Either you can keep holding to your child's hand till he build up enough confidence or learn the basics of rollerblading so the child can transfer that confidence to Heely's.

My DD went through the second part. I got her a bicycle helmet and skating protection guards, so she will realise where to fall down on and its not that painful.

      Hope this helps.

My DD is the 2014 P1 batch.
      1. When will we know which class that my DD will be posted to. As all the forms require us to state the class.
      2. Will there be any parents briefing? This is because we will be going overseas during Decemeber.
      .

Inside that same letter sent to your house by post -
it inform p1 parents when to buy p1 textbooks, school uniform, school socks, shoes, etc - will also indicate which p1 class (from 1a to 1i) your child has been assigned to. They'll send out this letter, sometime from end September to end October - because Admin very busy processing much pre-p1 admission paperwork now.

Whether got any parents briefing or not, the detailed content inside the letter, will inform you.

      Thanks for the information!
