This question is pretty tricky if one does not read carefully.
Note that for damaged parcel, it is also considered not safely transported, hence the $15 charge cannot apply.

So assuming all safely transported -> 15x1000 = 15000
Then the difference -> 15000-14220 = 780
So now other than paying Mr J $50 for damage parcel, must reverse out the $15 charge for safely transported parcel in the assumption above. So total -> 50+15 = 65

Hence total damaged parcels -> 780/65 = 12.

One of the heuristic questions :

Assume that all 1000 parcel are transported safely, Mr J would pay $15,000. the shortage of $780 was due to damage parcel.

1 safe parcel exchange for 1 damage parcel, he \"save\" $65. Hence, $780 / $65 = 12.

12 parcels are damaged.

Why not put Clementi Town Sec before Gan Eng Seng ? Since COP of Gan Eng Seng is lower, you can place it further down. Clementi Town is not so far from Tiong Bahru, just need to take MRT to Clementi. I heard from a friend whose son is in Clementi Town that his son's teachers are quite responsible, will call parent if child doesn't do homework or misbehave. I think parents like this kind of teachers

Based on this order of choices, if you can't get into Crescent, you will definitely get into Gan Eng Seng. Is this what you want ?

You will not stand a chance in Crescent Girls as 234 is quite far away from their cut-off point last year. Crescent is not s SAP school so you can't use HCL pts to add on. Suggest you choose schools with 1 to 2 pts above your T-score.
