Please come out with some constructive idea how to do it effectively. If you do not have any idea, you do not have the right to complain, and please allow teacher to perform their work.
Teachers are sent for teachers training, they should know that they cannot do that. It's not fair to shout at the whole class if there are few mischievous ones, there are timid ones and the one that want to learn. Shouting at the whole class scare the timid ones and spoil the mood for the good ones. It cannot be the whole class are mischievous kids. The more mischievous oncs should be given warming and sent to discipline master and councilor if they continue. In most children, shouting at them doesn't work, in fact they will be even more unhappy and became even more mischievous. I think the councillor and disciplinary master know this best as they studies child psychology. Just like us for example, do you want yr boss to shout at u when u make a mistake or u prefer the boss to correct u and help u?
I know it's not easy to handle children of this generation. But I hope the teacher who like to shout can try to control their temper.

I'm not referring to all the teachers, my children love their Sch and their teachers and principals. The Sch did well for last year PSLE and we parents are greatful, thanks to the teachers and principals that put in so much effort.

How the teachers of the school manage a noisy class? Was told that teacher will suddenly shout at the class to ask them to keep quite. Today I experience it when I walk pass the school. The Chinese teacher was very loud, the other time was a female teacher in english. Is this the correct or effective ways? Is there a more suitable ways to do it? I do not like my children to have this ideal that "loud" can solve problems. Furthermore it will scare some timid lower primary kids. I think shouting at them also consider bully to the children too. Any suggestions of useful ways to manage noisy class?

It depent on what you think what is most important. My point of view all these sch have their pros N cons.

My kids are all in this sch. So far happy with it, of course not smooth sailing all the way, sometimes once in a while I might need to call sch to inform them about some issue. I’m quite happy about the why the sch handle it, my problem was solve n never had the same problem anymore.

I dare not tell you if this sch is good or bad. Sometime it depent on how and which way we approach sch when we had a problem, for my case I will talk to teacher or the P direct if talking to teacher dosent help. And how our kids "click" or "respect " the teachers, But to be frank there are some teachers that are not easy too.

Due to the ballot, one of the reason could be there is a new sch nearby the newer flat with more younger children. So in total there are about 5 sch around this area, so parents got more choice.

If a country is facing some problems, we are gather together and blame on the govt, as times goes we are going to face a bigger problem and all die together!

If if do it in this way,

If a country is facing some problems, we work together and find solutions, we have a high chance of solving the problems and survival.

Of course u can choose to move to another country if you have the capital. And leave the poor to die. But that is such a selfish way. Live must live to fullest and help others, when you have done it you will know that the joy u have is something money can’t buy.

Don’t think it is nice to blame everything to the P. It is a sch, so everyone plays a part. What I think our P is too nice too everybody n it’s not easy for her to handle some group of old teachers or parents who are here longer then her n think they know much better then her. Beside P there are VP, HODs, teachers and parents What are these people for? They are suppose to be working together to build the sch. Are they cooperating with the P or is our P able to handle these group of "senior know it all".

New fresh teachers dosent mean that they are no good. Actually it really depend on individual. Some fresh teachers are full of passion, creative n very knowledgeable so they can create new ways of teachings. The younger gen learn more complex things during their sch days as compare to older gen 10-20 yrs ago. If they can do with Uni, primary sch is really a breeze. This sch also have teachers who have been teaching many yrs n their passion of teaching drain as the yrs goes. New teachers or old teachers it really depend on individual teacher. There are some old teachers who are here since sch started and I think they are fantastic n make lesson interesting for kids.

Maybe our sch need a more firce or more authoritive VPs or some changes of the HOD to mange their management. And why are our sch only have P and VP and some sch have afew.

I like the environment at endeavour pri school, and the way that the new principal n teachers dedicated to ensure that every children are doing well in school.

I think she is ok, saw her greeting the students when I pick my kids. Agree with you that they have conducive learning environment. Kids are generally happy and dare to speak up for their rights.

Common. With new leadership, teachers will seek transfer elsewhere if the leader is the authoritative type. With an outflow of experienced teachers from Endeavour, I expect the new teachers to have bigger shoes to fill. The principal only needs to give directions and the ones doing are the teachers. Think about it. The new P could be the no nonsense type aka fierce.

If the principal still Mr Chia, I will go all the way to even take the chance to try ballot in for the school. But change in leadership, I won't think about it.
Semgal can tell us how is the new P fierce? Only heard from my kids that she talk very long during assembly and want to fall a sleep but i see them more \"Guai\" now la after all the \"chanting\" 😄 I ask them is the new P fierce they say no leh. Did you or yr kids experience any fierce encounter about the new P? They only say the Chinese teachers fr china mostly more fierce.

Actually I think if you really like Mr Chia as the P, can consider transfer yr kids to HPPS, I think he will be most happy to accept yr kids. Instead of sending yr kids to a school that u feel so uncomfortable and stress everyday. So unhealthy for you and yr family members. Further more HPPS is a \"branded\" school can grab this chance to enrolled them there.

      Gluttonish:

Really looking forward to the Teachers and Parents meeting next week. Hope to speak to the new P to understand more about her and her direction for EPS.
Gluttonish how was yr meet parent? Manage to talk to the new P? Actually I think she is very friendly except still new and need to get to know more about our Sch and know what we parents are looking for b4 she can do much. I think we should give her our support n talk to her more often because if we parents don't support her then there is really a limited area of what she can do. I heard she was a teacher in RI and was a VP in AiTong before , so her experience is there except need our feedback. Our old P was able to make it partly also because there are a group of parents who willing to feedback and he willing to accept and make the changes to improve. Personally I think the new P is more approachable not doubts the old P have done quite a bit for our Sch. Anyway he had left n will not be back to this Sch is a reliably, so lets us support the new P and see what she can help us make our kids learning more enjoyable.

Canberra Primary has one score 273. I saw from http://www.mindstretcher.net/Mind-Stretcher/2009-psle-results.html

Ya Agreed that Sembawang and Canberra every year produce at lease 1 highs scorer for PSLE. But that doesn't mean if we sent our kids there, then our kids will be one of them. It really depend on our kids. Also every Sch have their stronger sides, like factories they produce different qualities of same products. Cater for different types market. 😆 In time to came Singapore cannot only produce batch of this gen students who are very good in studies. I think they should also train students who are good in other areas.

EDP used to be more Angmo ways in terms of sch rules when the old P set up the sch which I like and feel my kids will enjoy Sch better.

      Example are

School starts at 7:45am, it's ok if you are a bit late, no punishment. Unless u late too often then I don't know what happened Liao. But I really find this helps a lot because don't have to rush like mad every morning and stress the whole family early in the morning, imagine all the Sch starts at the same time in the same area, traffic and be quite chaos. Anyway it's a single session Sch, I really don't see the need to start so early, as per news report, children in our country already very stress and having not enough sleep. I do see some teachers rushing to Sch in the morning 😆 , don't know their rest of the morning good mood or not :scratchhead:

The old \"P\" encourage the students to play. This is areas which I like too. Through play or sports, students are able to communicate and learn to get along with others and learn leadership qualities etc..These are area that our society really need to learn nowadays, many people forgotten how to talk and get alone with others, since most of us comes fr small families n talk to our smart phone most of the day. Should have more of the group games or camping.

But in terms of academic is a bit low, but I think it also depend on which teacher your kids got. There are still a numbers of good teachers who are well like and respect by the students, and through the work the students bring back u will know (getting lesser) But also be careful of black sheeps every Sch have no choice except got to go temple 打小人 :rotflmao:

For me I really don't go for PSLE result alone. Just like u take bus, mrt, drive or walk but u still can reach Changi. So what is the hurry. Or maybe I'm wrong?

Semgal share with me or maybe enlighten me a bit why only good Sch =good result. Or good result =good school. But of course I don't want my kids to do very badly n also not the MUST go RI or RGS. As long as they have done their best. 🤷 Some of us are just good in other things beside study. Most of the rich business men are dropout of Sch .
Semgal please don't be offended I'm just writing what I think. I might be wrong.
