      Gluttonish:
I am quite unhappy with a particular Ms Zhang teaching my dd's Chinese class. she seems super impatient. Wondering what is wrong with their Chinese teachers this year?!

Is your dd in P2? Just found out that my kid's Chinese teacher also Ms Zhang, and most of her Chinese exercise work since january not marked.

Almost all her marking just ticks, without dates written.

Wayang teachers in this school not only Chinese teachers other subjects maths and science also have. I pm u what I came across.

Today Rainbow day. Saw a maid with a girl, wearing a spaghetti dress (very expose) What will the boys in the class say about it? It’s a Sch and they will sit on the floor, play ,run around. Isn’t just a nice pair of jeans or a 3/4 pants with blouse more suitable.?

I like Rainbow day. I think it’s a day that can teach the kids to dress properly for the occasion. To look good or "sexy" (sorry Kenny I got to use that word) doesn’t mean got to expose so much on the clothes they wear. Or maybe next time rainbow day will come in theme like "formal", "casual", "sporty" or "smart casual".

Ya Agreed that Sembawang and Canberra every year produce at lease 1 highs scorer for PSLE. But that doesn't mean if we sent our kids there, then our kids will be one of them. It really depend on our kids. Also every Sch have their stronger sides, like factories they produce different qualities of same products. Cater for different types market. 😆 In time to came Singapore cannot only produce batch of this gen students who are very good in studies. I think they should also train students who are good in other areas.

EDP used to be more Angmo ways in terms of sch rules when the old P set up the sch which I like and feel my kids will enjoy Sch better.

                  Example are

School starts at 7:45am, it's ok if you are a bit late, no punishment. Unless u late too often then I don't know what happened Liao. But I really find this helps a lot because don't have to rush like mad every morning and stress the whole family early in the morning, imagine all the Sch starts at the same time in the same area, traffic and be quite chaos. Anyway it's a single session Sch, I really don't see the need to start so early, as per news report, children in our country already very stress and having not enough sleep. I do see some teachers rushing to Sch in the morning 😆 , don't know their rest of the morning good mood or not :scratchhead:

The old \"P\" encourage the students to play. This is areas which I like too. Through play or sports, students are able to communicate and learn to get along with others and learn leadership qualities etc..These are area that our society really need to learn nowadays, many people forgotten how to talk and get alone with others, since most of us comes fr small families n talk to our smart phone most of the day. Should have more of the group games or camping.

But in terms of academic is a bit low, but I think it also depend on which teacher your kids got. There are still a numbers of good teachers who are well like and respect by the students, and through the work the students bring back u will know (getting lesser) But also be careful of black sheeps every Sch have no choice except got to go temple 打小人 :rotflmao:

For me I really don't go for PSLE result alone. Just like u take bus, mrt, drive or walk but u still can reach Changi. So what is the hurry. Or maybe I'm wrong?

Semgal share with me or maybe enlighten me a bit why only good Sch =good result. Or good result =good school. But of course I don't want my kids to do very badly n also not the MUST go RI or RGS. As long as they have done their best. 🤷 Some of us are just good in other things beside study. Most of the rich business men are dropout of Sch .
Semgal please don't be offended I'm just writing what I think. I might be wrong.

Canberra and Endeavour are desired schools which parents preferred. No doubt Endeavour has its strength of offering Higher Mother to students which Canberra do not provide. The ex-principal of Endeavour was highly-respected by all. Canberra is well-known for being one of the future schools. All teachers trained by NIE are expected to teach children to maximise their potential. Endeavour is a relatively new school as compared to the rest such as Canberra, Wellington or Sembawang. The ex-principal has done such a great job to bring Endeavour to be well-accepted by parents in the neighbourhood. Another deciding factor which has been the driving force for parents to send their children to Endeavour was the ex-principal’s leadership. To me, both Canberra and Endeavour have its strengths. Parents are the ones to support their children’s academic needs and not leaving it solely to the schools.

Agree - I really liked the ang moh style of Mr Chia. The new P seems to bring everything back to Asian style, which I'm not sure if that's for the better. I like the recess songs and free use of board games etc during recess. I hope it will not/has not been taken off.

Really looking forward to the Teachers and Parents meeting next week. Hope to speak to the new P to understand more about her and her direction for EPS.

Hi Kenny - my DD is in P3. It might be the same Ms Zhang. Apparently she will only mark the work after they complete the chapter. That's what she said when I asked about the unmark work.
