[/quote]I believe it's because it's already full, but best to check with the after school center directly. Unfortunately these are privately run, so the school doesn't really have a say. I know that this year the school tried to reach out to other nearby centers to see if they have vacancies to assist parents.[/quote]
Hi strawberry99, yes spoken to the after school care supervisor today during the open house. They can only take 70 students in total due to constraint of area. As of now, there will only be about 5 Pri 6 graduating this year so the vacancy for the Pri 1 children is limited and priority given to those 2014 Pri 1's sibling already in that after school care.... SKPS has been very kind in offering us contact of the after school area their area.... Will work out a way lor.... YMCA will only open up vacancies in 2015. I am not hopeful as vacancies will definitely be limited again....

I also really wanted to know but I guess they really don't bother cose they don't even explained or have my child be put on waitlist.... kinda nose high in the sky... cant help but have that feeling... if they have reason not to take in new students, at least should have come up with a reason.... Hi all, I know there is a YMCA after school care in Sengkang Primary School itself and that is the main reason why I wanted to enrol my son in. However YMCA told me no more vacancies for next year and they are not taking in any students??? There sure to be students graduating or reach the age limit and have to be out of the after school right? How come no vacancies? Or they cant commit now? They are not even taking in waitilist :frustrated: .... funny.... Anyone experience any contact with them before? And anyone knows of any student care in SK that has vacancies now?

My son is under phase 2C. I intend to register him in Rivervale Primary School, which always need to ballot under 2C. I presume I will still go to the school for registration when 2C date is due?

Rivervale Pri is one of the schools that you can apply online. So, you may either apply online or go to the school for the registration.

Actually, at the end of the third day of P2C registration, the school should know applicants of which distance category will go through balloting. So, you may go down to the school personally or call them (bearing in mind that the staff of the school will be overloaded then. So, they may not answer the phone.).




Official confirmation on the distance category for balloting will be posted on MOE's website and TV text.

If you choose to go down to the school to register, the school will indicate the balloting date and time when you are there to register. No, you don't have to be present for the balloting. After balloting, you may call up the school to enquire or wait for the school to send you the confirmation.
