How can 24 SCs go in when there are only 20 vacancies?

If there are only 24 SCs < 1 km, only these 24 will go through balloting.

Pity that we are not given the breakdown in SC < 1km, SC 1km to 2km, SC > 2km for us to understand the likelihood of our kid can enter a primary school.

Or is there any source we can try to find the breakdown?

Only the school will be able to tell you that information if they are willing to share.
Just give the school(s) you are looking at a call lor. No harm and nothing to lose. From my past experiences, I find that generally schools are nice and will give you the answers like how many applications within 1km etc.
For very popular schools, typically the ballot will be for SC < 1km, so distance and whether SC or not is inconsequential la.

Hi Floppy

Yea I have read this part:-

See: MOE's Address used for registration under the section \"Using the address of a new property\".

\"The vacant or delivery possession date of the new property you are moving into must be within 2 years of your child’s entry into P1”

I like to check since the completion of most new property are delayed due to covid19, is there any one that is experiencing this? Do I have to write in to MOE?

MOE based the date on the delivery of vacant possession as stated in your sales and purchase agreement. Since the S&P is probably inked some time ago, delay in completion due covid doesn’t affect MOE requirement. You can physically take possession and move in at a later date, MOE doesn’t care.

It won’t make sense if someone had purchased a unit originally due for completion more than 2 years after the kid enter P1 and then argue that it has been delayed further by Covid. The point is, so? Without Covid, the Buyer won’t be able to meet MOE requirement also.

I applied using a BUC last year for my #2. The VPD on S&P was early Jan 2023, so technically the VPD date is about 1 week later than the required move in date of 31 Dec 2022. I wrote in to MOE and also call the school to double/triple check if I can still use the new address for application. Sent in the S&P for their verification. They gave me the green light, so I went ahead to use the new address. I had to sign a letter of undertaking though after we got in to the school, to acknowledge that we have to move in by Dec 2022 or the school reserves the rights to transfer my son out.
At the moment the progress at site looks promising.. and we should be able to move in before end 2022. (fingers / toes crossed nonetheless).
So i guess if you are in doubt and need clarification, please give MOE and the school of your choice a call / email to clear your doubts

Hi, I understand that Primary 1 registration has moved online and the process is completed via SingPass.

The address of my new property that is under construction is within 1km of the desired school I would like to enroll.
If the registration is conducted via SingPass, it’ll reflect my current address on my NRIC which is not within 1km of the desired school.
Is there any way in the online registration for me to indicate the address of my new property? Thanks!
Hi, yes, you can indicate that you are using the address of a new property.
School will ask you to email them you S&P for the new address after your application.
Do note that you will need to move into the new place by the end of P2 year of your child.
I used my new address (building under construction) for my pony son's registration last year.

st andrews junior/sec not considered full?

\"Full\" school means both Primary and Secondary Section, share the same identical Principal, only one Principal

Example

Maris Stella High is a Full school, because only one Principal, Mrs Woo Soo Min

https://sis.moe.gov.sg/SchoolDetails.aspx?schoolCode=7111

Catholic High, the same
Only one common Principal, Mr Poh Chun Leck

https://sis.moe.gov.sg/SchoolDetails.aspx?schoolCode=7102

But,
St Andrew Junior and St Andrew Secondary have two different Principal, hence not a Full school

St Andrew Junior Principal, is Ms Patsy Neo

St Andrew Secondary Principal, is Mrs Marion Tan Cheng Neo, another person

oh wow never knew this..
thanks for the info.
