thanks nite. one earlier posting mentioned that a few students didn't get 3rd language offer with tscore 249.
Can you share if you have the 10% third-language cutoff for PSLE 2019 Vs 2018?
Someone mentioned earlier it's 252 for both 2018 and 2019.
Another mentioned it was 250.
I called MOE to check but they said they don't have the numbers.Stevenlsf\" post_id=\"1949904\" time=\"1574820050\" user_id=\"69371:
Actual cut-off for ESIS scholarship is 261. No ifs and buts. Based on both Singaporean and non-Singaporean students. Works out to top ~2-2.5% of cohort (+/-).
You get scholarship if you are Singaporean, get >=261 and get into an IS school (IP or OP).
As for derivation, it's based on top 1/3 of eligible students to all IS schools (8 IS + NUSH, SST, SOTA, SSS).
I don't know the total number of available IS places (anyone?). Else can find total number of students eligible for IS. Also, we wouldn't know how many Singaporean students got it.
Idea is if we know the cut offs for the top 2% and 10% of cohort, we generally know how the cohort did and how to base our top 3 choices on.
MOE doesn't reveal these numbers. But, we can work backwards based on some assumptions. -

so can I say 261 is just a reference, the actual cut off could be lower(excluding those non-Singaporean, those who entering non-IP school)?

Only Singaporean students in this band are eligible for ESIS scholarship if they enter IS.
Your Q earlier was on cutoff. And yes, student admitted to OP track are eligible as well as long as they fit the criteria and enter IS. -

Yes, as long as they report back before roll call at 10pm. Although most days there will probably be boarding activities that usually start at 7pm. So they'll have to return before the activities start.
thanks starfruit321123 , then it is clear now.

During weekdays, they stay at boarding (not allowed to go out in the evening). They are released on Friday after school hours and repot back on Sunday evening by around 9pm
can the student go out in the afternoon and report back to boarding house before evening? -

Thanks... I just wonder how 261 is derived. Is my understanding correct? If there are X number of places in the independent IP schools, the top X number of Singaporean students with the highest T-scores will be eligible for ESIS. Correct?

Yes, to all.
Does anyone know during boarding time, when will the student need to report to boarding in the evening, meaning after that it is not allowed to go out any more? Thanks.

i would say my dd's school did better than last year based on the number of students above 250. But I don't know the top t-score.
Saw the below Facebook post that highest score for KCPS is 280 and was just reminded ‘oh yeah hor’ this year ksp forum don’t have a thread on top t-score for each school?
I’m wondering how other schools perform besides the GEP schools ( I assume they did very well as per usual), as I think my school did not do very well in my opinion and hence wondering what’s the general feel/take now?

Both J and M will be accepted if they meet cop, else if not meeting cop both will not get the last vacancy.
In that John n Mary example, it will be decided by computerised balloting.Timmy21\" post_id=\"1948618\" time=\"1574567984\" user_id=\"122721:

I read the S1 sec school posting exercise booklet, Page 12 Clause 10.2, it says that John and Mary both have same T-scores. John put School A as 1st choice and Mary put School A as 3rd choice. John doesn't have priority over Mary. Since both have same T-scores, how they allocate?
Many of my friends said is CHOICE before MERIT because the student choose it as 1st choice. I am confuse over this with clause 10.2.
Do read page 12 carefully. It is crystal clear tat posting is based on merit n choice does NOT override Tscore.
I suspect When it comes to last few slots, sch either accept all with same tscore (even if exceed last vacancy by 2-3) or reject all with same tscore (sch will leave the last 2-3 slots vacant)
Anyone came across real cases (not hearsay) of 2 students with the same tscore (all else equal like citizenship) but one made it while the other got rejected?
will the school actually knows the last few slots as everything is done by computer and the school might not be aware there are still students with same integer tscore being rejected by the system.
On the other hand, someone posted last year one can appeal if the integer number meets the COP and the school might open a few more slots in this case(from last year posting, no real case experienced). -

This being said, does that mean that someone who scores less than 250, for exampleDino\" post_id=\"1948054\" time=\"1574416158\" user_id=\"6726:

nobody pre-set the T-score to qualify for IP.
Based on historical COP data, 252 has a good chance of getting into the IP courses at TJC, SJC or RV.
But if this year's cohort did very well (hypothetical situation, dun scare yourself huh), it is possible tat 253 is the minimum COP to get into any IP course, leaving students with score of 252 unable to get into any IP school.
240 - 249 can also choose IP in their choices?
probably, COP to join Sec 1 2020 (IP) into (SCGS, St Nick and Catholic High) may rise
last year (2018) batch COP for
St Nick (IP) = 255
Catholic High (IP) = 254
SCGS (IP) = SCGS (OP) = 252
====================
St Nick (OP) = 253
Catholic High (OP) = 251
but this moving plan should have been known 1 or 2 years earlier and should it already factored in in the last 1 or 2 years COP? St. Nicks is one of my DD choice and this feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.
