If they continue with their good work when given the liberty to have handphones, I do not mind. But most of the time, they cannot control the phone usage, especially now with FB and internet. I had that problem with 2 maids.


My ex-maid even used my handphone to call indonesia and the bill came up to $100+. I allowed her to use hp (which i pay) so that I can reach her easily when she fetches my boy from school. But she misuses it. When I made her pay for the bill, she insisted she wanted to buy her own personal hp. That’s when all hell breaks lose. She is forever yakking on the phone, with an earpiece forever plugged into her ears. Even I dare not do that in the office and my maid is doing that. Hmmph…

The next maid that I take in was very good for first 2 years and I offered to extend her contract. She was ok initially but I had to send her home after the 3rd year as I cannot tolerate the laziness that comes with handphone. I had allowed her to buy handphone on condition that she only uses it on weekends but she showed a black face. Once she has handphone, she started to slack, laundry not washed, clothes not ironed, it is as if i have a teenaged daughter and no maid. A month after I sent her home, I discovered she used my son’s handphone to make phone call to malaysia. Luckily she only managed to use it for 2 days before I told her I was sending her home.

I have no more tolerance for maids with handphone. If I need to send them home, I will just do it. To me, no point talking too much on this matter with them. They do not reciprocate your understanding.

If no news from teacher tomorrow, i m resigned to DS being in Red Cross. But DS also likes ELDDS but it clashes either with his 3rd lang on tuesday or Red cross on friday. DH told him to go for Red Cross on Thurs n ELDDS on Fri. Hmmm is it allowed?

May be you can try to email the school regards to the issue. My DS after the trial for NCC Sea last Friday, regretted he opt for it as first choice so I wrote in on Sat to change the 2nd choice to 1st.
On Monday, he got posted to the choice he wanted :boogie:

What is he posted to? I am getting panicky now. No one wants to barter with him just now. The scouts are contented with their choice. Have emailed for form teacher to help.

Now, the problem is I already have an older iPad at home. After debating with one and all in the family whether to keep it or try to trade it with someone for a laptop (we already have 2 laptops), we decided to unwrap it and use it.

So iPad2 is in the bedroom and iPad1 is in the living room, but I still feel it is overkill.

Are the S1 boys supposed to report in uniform or PE t-shirt tomorrow for the camp? I thought I heard they are supposed to report in uniform by 7:15, placed their camping bags in the classroom, go for flag-raising, thereafter change to PE t-shirts to procced to the camp site. But DH thought he heard that they just wear PE t-shirt n shorts. Which is the rite one? Thanks!

They clarified that they are supposed to be in their PE uniforms. Also - some of the activities make the shirts very dirty - so I was advised by some parents from PSG that we may wish to send Primary school PE shirt or old shirt for these activities.
