Hi, I am trying to find out something about Cedar Girls. We went to their open house earlier this year, but it was the second open house we attended among the schools. Subsequently, we also attended open houses from other schools and discovered that the rest of the open houses, except CGS deployed many teachers to engage visitors like us. At CGS, we only saw 1 teacher in the event. We only observed this difference after visiting other schools. Is it normal for CGS to refrain from deploying teachers to mingle around ?

I had the same issue couple of years back in CGS.Previously we had attended RGS and MGS open houses & we could talk to some of the Teachers who answered to our queries and Student volunteers and ambassadors engaged us from the moment we entered until we left the school. But when We attended the second open house after results in CGS,We were left stranded in the school with no one to attend. The experience was totally opposite of that from the other schools. After loitering in the school for sometime,We slowly approached the student volunteers and proceeded but still the response was not that good. But in schools like RGS,MGS and SCGS we were not left alone even for a single second.Student volunteers wilI approach us immediately when we enter inside the campus.I don’t know whether We were the ones who had such experience or others also had the same.I didn’t attend the first open house.I think that as the second open house was during November holidays, there were not much volunteers available during that time.

Hi, when you indicate 'CGS', do you refers here as 'Cedar Girls' Secondary School' or 'Crescent Girls' School'?

Actually 'CGS' = 'Crescent Girls' School'.

Well ... you are in the exact situation as me 😄 My DD scored 248 [+2] and looking at the 3 all-girls schools as options .. (with not much time left to decide though)
      1. Cedar [COP was 249 in 2012. So, we are a little wary]
      2. Crescent Girls
      3. TKGS

Frankly, in terms of distance, the travelling time isn't all bad for Crescent Girls. We've actually \"walked the ground\" over the weekend by taking the direct MRT from Simei to Redhill (35 mins) and took a 10 mins walk from Redhill MRT to the school. All in all, it was about 45 mins journey.

For Cedar, it will be a train journey to Aljunied, followed by a 10 mins bus ride to Joo Seng Road before another 5-10 mins walk. With all the waiting time for the bus, it might take slightly less than 40 mins.

For TKGS, i dont think travel time will be any shorter either.

      Food for thought. 😄
My gal graduated from Crescent Girls and she had enjoyed her 4 years at there very much. Crescent has always been producing very good O Level results.

      Mgs olevel or cgs?.pls help

      Thanks

Hi! Do you mean Cedar girls? It's a good school, very academically focussed, but also pushes the gals in their CCA. Can be competitive especially in the top classes (but that could be the case for almost all schools), so will need to manage that...

Overall, my niece had a great learning experience there. 😄

Perhaps other forumners can advise on MGS (O level). 😄

      Cgs is Crescent Girls School.

Crescent Girls also express stream only

CGS also offers only Pure Science for their Sec 3 and 4 classes. CGS girls are generally well behaviour and the teachers are dedicated too.

I felt their promo is same as their website promo offer, two core subjects give a Samsung tablet plus the worksheet etc if subscribe before 24 dec.

I am not interested at their promo, but did my subscribe for my ds as well, at the book fest, on 19 Dec, without tablet(don’t want too much electronic gadgets at home) + 4 P6 subjects + worksheet + minisize calender(free gift) , total paid $1472. Don’t know if that’s good deal or not?! :boogie:
Any idea how much if to include the tablet? Also, how much is it for 1 subject? Thanks tbsp.

Your sister’s friends may have older children who are already studying in the primary school. And the school may have given them the forms to fill up to register their interest for their younger sibling for next year P1.
