Sorry for my late update. Have not been accessing this forum for awhile. Regret to inform that my daughter’s treatment was Dr Kelvin Lau was not successful. After 24 sessions in 3 months, her degree did not stablisize, worse it has gone up. Initially Dr Kelvin Lau informed that her degree has better by a few degree but when I told him that we have recently went to NUH and measurement given by mainstream dr suggested went up further. Dr Kelvin Lau remeasured and finally agreed that her degree went up a little. He further suggested that we sign up for more intensive program. We have decided not to.
Guess the program may or may out be suitable for all kids and a lot also depends on the child, if he or she has been diligent in the exercises recommended. Tks

RE: Scoliosis Treatment with Kevin Lau
Dear plan2012,
I can’t tell any different yet. My daughter has gone through at least 50% of her treatment sessions so far. I really hope to see improvement in her degree and pray hard that she need not go for surgery at all. Due to my work schedule, she has been going on her own. I am likely to accompany her there for one of her sessions next week and will find out more from Kelvin Lau.
Likely whether got improvement or not, only through X-Ray. I will try to update then. Tks -
RE: Scoliosis Treatment with Kevin Lau
Thank you so much for your sharing, Yuki. My daughter has started the program 2 weeks ago. Praying hard that it will benefit her too and hope to hear good news from her main stream doctor on next review in Aug. By the way, other than the program with Dr Lau, would you be able to share any others that your daughter has done to bring her degree down by 12 points? Thanks

RE: Scoliosis Treatment with Kevin Lau
Thank you sammifan for sharing. Spinecor is a type of brace? Able to share more information? My daughter looks very straight too and no one can tell that she has scoliosis unless one look at her back carefully as both sides are not aligned.
Anyone heard of TLM Medical Brace Pte Ltd? Operated by 2 Chinese, seems around since 1997. They claimed to have treated scoliosis using their hand made brace. -
RE: Scoliosis Treatment with Kevin Lau
Dear all,
Saw a few review on Dr Kevin Lau. We went to see him last year but was sceptical about his program and as the cost is very high, we have decided not to go ahead. Instead we went to another chiropractor and tui na, end up spending a few hundreds monthly but no result. In fact, my daughter degree has worsen to 58 now and surgery seems to be the only option according to orthopedic. My daughter is 16 this year and was told that her bone has matured and that her degree will get worse if she did do not go for the surgery. For those whose daughter have gone to Dr Kevin Lau for treatment, possible to share more insight with me please? Tks -
RE: Scoliosis Treatment with Kevin Lau
Dr Kevin Lau’s program really help in bringing down the degree of curvature? I brought my daughter to see him once but because of the frequency we are unable to committ to the program though I feel that it’s still worth a try as my daughter was recommended fir surgery. She has double thoracic. Next review in August. Mary, I saw from you message that you can see result in 3 months???

RE: Scoliosis Treatment with Kevin Lau
How old is ur DD? If she has yet reach puberty, better put her on some program to at least maintain her curve as it will be surgery if it worsen to 40 degree and more.
Regret that my dd curve has worsen due to spurt of growth. We had recently reviewed at NUH under Prof Wong. Again there was no reason given behind the scoliosis. It could be genetic we were told. Next review is in Aug and it seems that surgery is inevitable.
We tried her for chiropractic, we tried her with Nuga Best, a korean bed supposed to be good for scoliosis too, we brought her to Dr Kelvin Lau but yet to find time to put her on intensive program.
We are attending a support group and talk this Sat at NUH. Will find out more. Much as we try to avoid surgery, it seems quite unlikely given her degree.
