Sometimes having a tutor is not the answer for them to be able to learn.. giving them your time and sit right next to them as they learn for me has a huge impact. Being there with them, they can feel that you are with them supporting them and this can motivate them to study more.

I agreed with this but sometimes it is hard to have the time to sit down and study with them especially when you reach back home at 9-10pm on average. Its about time for them to sleep. Haissss... work life balance.

Hi, yes it is hard for us working mum to spend time to study with our children. Does your child use technology gadget? Does interesting lessons and content attract them and make them want to study? For my kids, this is the case hence I signed my child for this program from OneSanta (http://www.onesanta.net) which my child reflect is good and he is more willing to study and learn on his own. The program is only $19.90 for Eng and Math. Good tutor and lots of lessons and examples available too. If interested you can go check it out. Strongly encourage

I gave my oldest son when he was in P3 and my middle son when he is P1 which is this year.
In this day and age, it is hard to deprive them from using such technology gadgets. My oldest uses 4-5 hours of laptop, tablet and smart mobile a day. :slapshead: But recently, I chance upon this online platform when I was going to work at raffles (p.s. they were giving out flyers and popular voucher haha šŸ˜‚ ), they provide online tuition to primary school kids 24/7 365 days.

Now everyday, my son will automatically visit their platform for revision, help etc. on its own as he said tht he likes the way the teachers teach and speak. Very interesting. so now, the usage rate is 1 to 1.5 hours on study. So, I must say nowadays technology gadget can never be restricted from our kids but we can help them make full use of it. :xedfingers:

Note: the platform is really affordable. (about 2-3 starbucks price) hope this help

Hi Susan, is the platform called OneSanta? You signed up for it? I am thinking about it too. Please provide me some feedback. thks

Hi mumof2child, yup I signed up for the program for my child. It is pretty good, my child is able to view full past year papers explanation, review topics taught in the past as well as ask tutors directly for explanation and clarification anytime. Most importantly, only for $19.90 per month. I think you should try it, pretty good. My opinion.

    • RE: Comparing Math Enrichment Programmes

Recently, I enrolled my son to this tuition program and he is enjoying the lessons a lot. He mentioned that the tutor explanation is very clear as they emphasis on the main/important concept and afterwards the tutor will teach him how to approach question in a faster manner/easier way. Tutor seems to be very experience as she can roughly gauge and predict questions. My son really enjoy it and will be willing to attend her lessons. Most importantly, she showed me result at an affordable price for almost all parents. Hope this help.
