Hi,

I'm going through the packing list for P1 for the first two days of school.

Just wondering, what is the \"Pupil's Handbook\"?

Also, are parents allowed in school on the first day or do we just drop off at the gate?
Thank you!
The hand book is a kind of communication book between the form teacher and the parents, you will need to buy it oj the first day from the bookshop or through the form teacher.
You can stay at the canteen during the first week if you like

When and how to find this info.

Any advice?
Thanks.

Hi, since the timetable subjects are not out yet, what will your kid be bringing to school on the 1st day of school? My girl is in P3 next year. Thanks for your help.

:thankyou:
Hi pychen,
Your girl can choose to bring nothing or bring any textbook or all the part A textbooks.
Teachers usually give out worksheets and go through administrative stuffs with them on the first day so don't worry, you girl will not need any textbook on the first day.
My girl will be in P4/7 in few days

Yes, there is not much time left in the weekdays. It will be worse if your child is like mine, slow & a dreamer. By the time he finishes his work, it is dinner time already. It's worst if your child is in the bicep class(p4 onwards) as they need to stay back once a week till 3.30pm. After adding in cca & supplementary, he will only be back by about 1pm + twice a week.

precisely. reach 2pm, lunch, bathe, start work, dinner, by the time we are back, revise sp, tingxie, test or whatever for the next day, sleep...everyday same routine. just wondering how do the rest manage the time? esp those with tuition...how to find time leh? supp class in school = more hw? :scared:

Homework is good, then no need to buy so many assessment books.
The CCA & Supplementary classes are FOC, so I cut down my spending for her enrichment courses.

TwettyKS, may i know how you get hold of the email address of your DS's form teacher. Last time in CC, its easy to drop any message in the communication book but now it seems no clue as the school did not let the parents know how to get hold of the teachers.

I believe they expect us to call the school though.
Hi,
You may visit the school website.
They have listed all teachers' email

hi taolao

Thanks for your information.
Even if I will have the chance to work PV, most likely we will not get the chance even in p2B and P2C because my block is about 100m away from 2KM. So sad....Anyone think that I should just give up the application?
If you have served at least 40 hours before the P1 registration, you will be in phase 2B.
Depending on the number of applications for that year, you may not even have to go through the balloting at all, even your home distance above 2 km (That means all PV get their slots if the number of PV is less than the allocated slots). I know some PV stays far away and still can get theirs.
We are contacted by Konghwa for PV interview in June.
This is very new to me.
Three years ago, when I applied for PV, it was just a sharing session and for the parents to register their preferred volunteer activities
(My daughter is in P2 now)
I think if the length of both wings and body is shorter than the height it can't fly.

can you find any evidence to prove this

Nope, just base on my observation. Can u name any that can fly?
helicopter (machine bird), dragon, superman (without wing) and last but not least: Harry Porter šŸ™‚

• RE: Q&A - P3 Math

It's because the last question is wrong

A skirt, a dress and a pair of pants should cost $200
Then you will get the skirt at 50

155 + pants = 200--> pants = 45
skirt + pants = 95-->skirt = 50

paranoid mum:
hi all.

I need help with my son's P3 Q from past year exam papers 2010

A skirt & a dress cost $155
A skirt & a pair of pants costs $95
A skirt, a dress and a pair of pants cost $300
How much is the skirt?

The answer was $50.

But i was wondering if the skirt is $50, when i add up the rest it does not tally to $300?.. hmn..

Would appreciate if any one can help with this. Thanks much! šŸ™‚

Hi, I am a parent of a P1 in KHS, can I hear some comments to the P1 Maths syllabus ?

My opinion is the current PI syllabus seems to be very much tougher than previous when my elder child was in P1. Now they are covering multiplication and division which my child finds it tough to understand. Besides the form teacher is not teaching much using the teach less, learn more concept. I fail to see much support from her except marking of the worksheets. I oso appreciate if I can know from rest of you how do you explain or make your kids learn the times table at age of 7. Many tks.
My DD has no tuition on maths and she still can cope well with the topics so far. I saw she was introduced with multiplication recently but only with small number, e.g: *3 or *4. It's more like a concept introduction. P1 does not need to learn times table yet.
