RE: Club Only Child Club
Another point, according to general consensus is that an only child is selfish and don’t tend to share, i feel its quite the opposite. At least for my DD and another friend’s child.
An only child tend to want to share as they want somebody to play with them. I never hv an issue on her giving up her toy to anyone at all.
Not sure if its the same to all of you ? -
RE: Club Only Child Club
hello all,
yes ! do count me in when you hv meets  -
RE: Club Only Child Club
hello kaitlynangelica,
yes i do totally agree with you !
These stress are what we impose on ourselves and if you want to be happy, nobody can stop you
I had a miscarriage 3 years back too and i did feel horrible then, the loss and everything. Even now when i look back i wld think, my 2nd child wld hv been 2yrs plus this year
And my DD wld make a very good elder sister.
There's a lot of \"what ifs\" when you only hv one child and those with more will never understand why we wld be so selfish in not wanting more.
I hv alot of ppl asking me why i didn't want more and my DD will be so lonely ? I can't be telling them because of health issues ?
But somehow, if its meant to be one, we shd just accept it. Whatever that comes along will be a blessing. To me, I feel its a miracle to even hv my DD. Of course i do feel sad when i see her feeling bored and wanting someone else to play with. So at times i wld try to arrange play dates for her. That's the least i can do. -
RE: Pat's Schoolhouse
Hi sparkie0409,
my DD entered PATS Halifax only at Playgroup 3 years back.
So did another parent. Rest of class were fm baby haven.
But i placed her in queue close to a year, which was not because there was a long queue but because I hv already narrowed down to this school due logistical reasons. -
RE: Pat's Schoolhouse
Hi Busymom,
thanks for yr insight
Looks like our DDs could be classmates
Its ironical how i want my DD to develop at her own pace (no stress etc) and yet worried abt her not catching up in pri school :?
I do appreciate PATs however, for encouraging creativity in their students.
The toilet rolls and all those that we deem as \"rubbish\" is definitely put to good use by my DD during those creative spurts at home

RE: Pat's Schoolhouse
She’s in PATs Halifax
Yes they dont seem to focus much for academics.
I wld think PATS curriculum are more suited for PG & Nursery levels.
My DD is creative, which i believe that’s their emphasis for their students.
Friends with kids in other pre-schools seems to be progressing much fm K1 onwards, which i feel my DD is behind. Everyday i ask her what she’s been learning and she doesn’t seem to hv a clue.
I am worried but am keeping my fingers crossed that she can catch up by P1. -
RE: Pat's Schoolhouse
hi…
I’m not sure if current parents of PATs does agree with me but i feel my DD doesn’t seem to learn much for subjects like Chinese, Maths etc. She’s in K2 this year and i’m abit worried abt her blending into the Pri School. I hv to send her for both Chinese & English enrichment classes.
I do know some of my DD’s classmates parents do think like me .
Can anyone with children that hv graduated fm PATs able to shred some information or feedback ? -
RE: Pat's Schoolhouse
no, not yet but somehow maybe thru speech n drama classes in school they are given the notion as such i presume.

RE: How to toilet train children
hi ...
agree..we shd not rush them.
My DD didn't get to be free fm diapers in the day till 4yrs.
Tho the teachers hv been training her but somehow she juz wasn't ready.
She will say \"no\" everytime i bring her to the toilet.
Then out of the blue...she said she wanted to pee in the toilet !
I guess when they are ready, they will inform you
As for the pooh part...well it juz happens naturally after 2 weeks.
Everything will juz fall in place somehow...
