There is a deli (sandwiches, pies, drinks) near the arrival doors. Didn't see any other food when arrived. We made a mistake of not getting something to eat from that deli. We went on straight to our hotel - Novotel in CBD. By the time we checked in and went out looking for food, most of the places were closed. Maybe because it was a Sunday. Lucky, we found a Korean restaurant, the owner was closing but when she saw ds, she let us in. That's one of the so call \"stress\" we had with our Perth holiday - most place closes early (malls shut at 5.30pm) šŸ˜“

Thank you, Novels for the very detailed information.

Our previous trip to GC, we rented from Hertz with collection & return at the airport but their excess was A$3000. We paid almost equally to the rental amount to reduce the excess to A$0 šŸ˜“

My boy's school also having the PSLE in aircon. Just need to bring along a jacket in case it gets chilly. But he told me today the teachers had on hand spare jackets & calculators while they were having a mock preparation.

No more revision for him today after school. Brought him for a movie to unwind after the past few days of mugging šŸ˜„ - but on hindsight shouldn't have caught Maze Runner 2 as they had zombies! šŸ˜“

He went to bed at 8pm! :rahrah:

      Good luck to all!

Perth's weather in November is around low of 12-14C and high of 24-28C (I referred to http://www.accuweather.com).

Novels - for the Bayswater car rental - how did you arrange to return on the day of departure? You took a taxi from their office? Was is easy getting a taxi both at the airport at 8am and in the evening from their CDB office? Thanks.....am also planning a trip to Perth. My husband prefers pick up of the car rental at the airport. But I was reading up and saw Bayswater's excess only A$500.

Lucky my boy has recovered from his sore throat in time šŸ˜“

He also seem cool.....but I wonder if he's feeling stress inside. I've talked to him but he said no.......yesterday was still reading his story book

I'm the one starting to get butterflies in my stomach, since this morning
Worried what time to leave house tomorrow (reporting time is diff as normal school hours), what to give him for breakfast tomorrow, how will he do, will he be nervous..................(endless worries).

Only good thing about the above, I dont' have appetite to eat - can help to lose weight šŸ˜‰

Best of luck to all P6s taking the orals tomorrow and day after! :xedfingers:

Hi, its getting closer and stress levels is going up. šŸ˜“ But I keep toning down my expectations to avoid any disappointment.

For English, here's what I did to help my ds. He's also attending supp class & enrichment classes but marks seem to be stagnant around the same range. I took out his whole P5 and P6 school's worksheets and type out all the Qns he gotten wrong, on a document, according to the diff category for exam (grammar, sysn, voca, etc). After compiling, I realised that he was actually getting the exact same type of Qn wrong - like when to use who vs whom, I vs me, a vs an, everybody/nobody sings vs sing, etc. Once I've narrowed down these common mistakes, I went online to find ways to help him remember these and drill him. So far so good, keeping my fingers crossed that he remembers

If it produces the results...better than me! I spent don't want to think how much on EL last year and stopped it this year. Results the same! :faint:
I can relate to this....sigh! Spent more $ for CL tuition but ended up the result for normal Chinese flat (exact same marks) and Higher Chinese went down from Credit to Pass. 😢

Just gotten to know some of his CA1 marks.......Maths turned out worse than P5 SA2 marks :frustrated: Its like taking a step forward, then two steps back 😢 and only 6 more months to go.

For Science, I always tell DD must ace paper 1 that is 60% if she aces that even if paper 2 (which is basically a mystery to all of us) is a just pass she would have gotten an A. Met her Science teacher last week and the teacher told me the same thing. Exam is about strategy and tactics as well, not just knowledge.
How to ace Science paper 1? I've tried telling mine this too - try to score for paper 1 as paper 2 OE is tougher. But best minimum error still 2Qns, usually 3 or 4 Qns. Have told him to do cross out method, reading properly, etc. Doesn't seem to help 🤷

So lately, I've been trying to help his paper 2 as its always not worded according to \"concepts\" and \"key words\". Let's see how is the CA result for Science, whether this strategy works for mine. :xedfingers:
