Hi Mother777

Thanks for the info, I’m sure your daughter will do fine. It’s like going overseas for her Uni except she’s back at her own country :). During holidays you can visit each other.

We were in similar situation (deciding to relocate whole family), I chose to continue my children’s education in sg, so I travel to/fro sg.

      Hi mother777

Understand from your post, you and your family are not living in sg. Your daughter is going to ntu hostel. Will she be coming back to sg alone?

It’s non-med though, will be entirely different vocation. So they have to decide for themselves what will get them out of bed every morning. Parents will be retiring and walking up and down park connectors for morning exercise.
Has your DS decided if he will go to ntu or nus? My dd is going to ntu.
Indeed my elder child has a friend who chose to go to Oxbridge on a non-med scholarship over sg med school.

    • RE: Compare RGS vs NYGH

      hi,

anyone has daughters from both rgs and nygh? I would like to hear your opinion regarding having girls in these 2 schools, do you find the schools very different, I am not comparing which school is better, just want to check if you see a difference in how your girls grow in these 2 schools, does it affect how they foster their bond/relationship? if you prefer, you can PM me. thank you very much!
Most geppers DSA for RI or RGS. Outcome not out. How to say rejection higher? Not fair to say geppers free rider. They are taught less of the PSLE stuff unlike mainstream and do more projects? Most still score above 250. Most awards won by geppers. Please be sensitive in your comments.

I have both gep and mainstream children. I do not think the gep child is taught less of PSLE stuff. In fact I think her gep curriculum contributed to her stellar psle results. Please don't flame me, just my own experience.

It's relative. Compared to a mainstream, geppers do more non PSLE stuff. All this take up time.
Yes, geppers do more non PSLE stuff. but I was just referring to your claim that \"they are taught less of the PSLE stuff\". based on my experience, my gep kid was not taught less of PSLE, in fact I felt my child was taught more skills (useful for PSLE) than my mainstream child. ok maybe it is just the school issue, not gep or mainstream.

There is no free ride for anyone in sgpore education system.

No free ride, but some have better and smoother ride than others... :siam:

distance between sngs and nygh is quite far apart. which school are you nearer to? does distance bother you? its 6years journey.
Actually distance is not a problem, not that far from our home., reasonable distance. Not from 1 end to the other end.
thats good! and congrats to your daughter for having sngs CO! I asked because I am wondering if I am spoilt, I only look at schools near home (or 1 direct bus), because I don't think I can sustain being the driver for the next 6-8years and I don't want them to spend >1hr on the road everyday.
