ngl2010:How many teeth?marzipan:Hi! I may also be in the same dilemma as you come next Monday. My younger one (3 yo only!) has corroding front teeth and horror of horrors part of it chipped off yesterday!
Now I'm also worried the dentist will suggest extracting all the problem teeth... I'm keeping my fingers crossed she'll be fine... :xedfingers:
Hi zbear,
Thanks for replying. I have been looking for a good paediatric dentists. Some recommended about min 5 extractions in the beginning of the year. The main cause to such severe tooth decay is due to milk bottle drinking at night. And I am feeding him with pediasure which I was told is very sweet. My boy is weak and probably the medicine he took was too acidic. This dentist at The Oral Care Centre suggests to extract 10 teeth for good. It is a heart-pain for me as well. I myself can't cope and can't bear to see him put under GA. I am afraid this could affect his diet and development. And whether he get teased in the school....
My son had a few rotting teeth when he was about 3 years old. The dentist cleaned them up and told us not to give him milk bottle anymore. We threw away the bottles immediately so our helper won't use them anymore. Our son was ok with it because apparently the rotting teeth caused him a lot of pain so he was traumatised by the pain. So, your gal may not necessarily have to have teeth extraction. Don't worry so much now. The most important thing is to stop using milk bottle completely.
Hi ngl2010,
Which dentist, your kid went to..?
Cause my 3 years old kid, also has some tooth problems...
