    • RE: Maid request to change employer

      st2:
Last time, the maids would not anyhow say they want to go home because they have to pay for the air ticket. They are eager and keen to do their best to please the employer to keep their job.

Now with all these 'Human Rights', plus kiasu employers, the maids think they are rare commodity....show black face, refuse to learn new ways to do things.

If you applied and accepted a receptionist job, you have to answer the phone and I expect you to answer in a certain manner with certain words or reference to my company name etc. Is that tooooo much to ask?

It is so ridiculous to have to tell the maid, eg. please clean thoroughly...is it not understood....Domestic Helper is doing all domestic chores, whatever that is in that household.

why would I pay for and feed a live in maid to clean half clean, mop every other day...... I can do this myself.....I had one Myn maid told me that her previous employer only ask her to wash toilet once a week!!! Regardless, I'm your boss now, still want to tallk about last boss??!?!
Human right? Then how about our employer rights? Just let the maids walk all over us and we have no choice but to keep quiet and accept? I hate it that people always think maids are so poor thing just because they left their homes to come and work and they are very poor.

In the first place, no one force them to come over here to work and you do your job and I pay you a salary. Why should I pay you money and suffer your tantrums or unreasonable behavior and on top of that, have some so called righteous human activist to come and tell me to sympathize you because you come from a poor family?

I also need to work leh..my money doesn't grow on trees. So I sympathize you then who sympathizes me when u mess up my home and life and I can't even go to work properly?

      zbear,

Just brought her back to the agent and guess what, she said she wanted to work and complete her contract now! U say she crazy or not? :siao: last night make a fuss say want to go home then now she said want to stay. Then when agent question her a few more times she said she think she wants to go home...

Fed up, she think we are very free issit? Every now and then keep changing her mind... :stupid:

Tell me, this kind of maid, doesn't she have some attitude and behavioral problem? She cannot take it that people tell her she made a mistake then how can she still work? She better be a boss.

    • RE: Single or Married Maids Better?

Wondering if employing a single maid or one who is married with kids is better?

Have employed both before but wondering which better? Thought married with kids is better cos got more motivation to work and earn money for the kids, though not necessarily true also…cos my last one also married with kid but still go and find Bangla BF.

Seen quite a few request for transfer maids who are single so wondering if single or married is better?

Asking fellow mummies for your opinions...

My mum's maid worked for her for almost 6 months and in the 6 months she has threatened us to send her home quite a few times already. Each time it's all because we told her off for doing something wrongly, then she show us black face and said she wanted to go home. Then after a few days when she \"cooled\" down she is back to normal.

This evening, again she threatened my mum to send her home. All because my mum confronted her regarding the way she washes the non-stick pan. I bought the pan for my mum and it's rather new, used for about 2-3 months only. Then one day I discovered that the entire pan is full of scratches. Asked her what happened and she said she dunno. Then I told her she cannot use the metal sponge to wash the pan because it will scratch it. Then she accused my mum of being the one who scratched the pan using the metal sponge. So I asked my mum and my mum said she did not use the metal sponge to wash, in fact my mum did not even wash that pan. When confronted she became very defensive and started arguing with us. Finally, she just walked away even before we finish talking. Then after that she told my mum she wanted to go home! :slapshead:

Very sick of her attitude and behavior. Every time when something goes wrong, she always denies that she is the one at fault (example, accidentally bleaching my colored shorts).. Or she will just say DUNNO. If she got caught red-handed then she will argue and show black face then later threaten us to send her home.

My mum is quite fed up already cos she has been doing this many times in her 6 months of employment. After threatening my mum, she has the cheek to tell her that she is happy working here, just that she cannot take when we tell her off for the mistakes she make! :siao:

Then like that how can she work here? Or anywhere? If she makes mistakes and we cannot point out her mistakes? What kind of theory is that? And we did not even raise our voice at her or scold her. Just told her what not to do next time and like that she cannot take it.

Should my mum just send her home as she requested? Cos really cannot stand her nonsense anymore. Every now and then come and kick up a fuss and threaten us.

Anyone face this kind of problematic maid? By the way she is 36 y.o. Heard from people that older maids tend to be like that. My mum chose her because thought older maids to be more matured.. :slapshead: turns out also not matured...

I applaud you. I also prefer to send maid home than to agency. I refuse to let them bend me to their will by refusing to listen to instructions, spoil my things, say stupid things like can't cook after cooking for 3 weeks.

They do all this on purpose to force us to transfer them.....the whole world is helping them including our MOM. They can transfer unlimited times....employer has to attend interview and class or black mark if change more than a few maids?????

All we want is a maid that will follow instructions, so that we can trust them to take care of our household...who wants to keep changing maids??? But these maids come in with a mentality of doing their worst until they find an employer that would bend to their will and accept the least......of course maid standard drop and drop...

If we are willing to accept such low standards and bad maids and just transfer them, why should they work any harder to please us and keep their job? Loads of bad maids just aim to come to Singapore.....why would they go else where, where more is expected of them????
I agree with you..if the maid attitude and behavior sucks, why let her go to another family and destroy other people's home? I wouldn't want a lousy transfer maid myself. And why must I make it easy for you to just transfer when u make my life difficult from the minute you start work for me?

Phone / Webcam interview ...are all bluff..especailly for fresh maids desperate for jobs , dont know anythings but have very huge loan to pay for their overseas \"Training cost?? ( also bluff, where got training?) , passport cost , airticket cost , and Singapore agent fees to pay. Every body has been instructed to answer \"Yes, yes.. yes\" first for any jobs , big and 3 -story house ..no off day. Anything can. after coming into singapore then say \"can not this , can not that.\"

Then over in singapore agent side, use cheap cheap fee and unlinited replacement to lure us to take and change and change...So what is the point of interviewing?
Yes I agree.. Also interviewed my mum's current maid over Skype and she everything also ok and every time smile and smile. Then when come over here, everyday black face and if tell her she did something wrong or ask her to change the method of doing she talks back and threaten us say not happy just send her home...totally different from who I spoke to over Skype.

      Faithmaidagency:
im indonesian chinese... who already convert to singapore citizen 6 years ago...

im a new maid agency in singapore.....
im interest join this member as i see so many post about maids...
im specialist in indonesian maid currently as is easy for me to handle as i speak the maids languange.
brief info about me is MY MAIN BUSINESS IS MOBILE PHONE SHOP AT CITY PLAZA (already 12 years)
(for info city plaza is the old building opposite paya lebar MRT which most indonesian maid will go there on their off day)
i have been seen maid character thousands time through this 12 years.
i have been offered by view singapore family member to do this MAID AGENCY BUSINESS but like most parents here i used to scared when think about maid.
and also i didt want to do the business cos i was thinking i dont want to do human trade.

but i decide to went to the business is when have one of the maid having a chit chat when she waiting the phone being service = \"she said mem why dont u be agent so u can find us good employer\"

from there suddenly my mind is being tick..... and i do some survey to my singaporean shops customer....
about how if i being an agent will u trust me to take a maid from my company... most of the customer say of course cos u can speak the languange and u been seen maid for so long in singapore in ur phone shop .

my company is an INDONESIAN EMBASSY ACCREDITED.

MY POINT to join here is to answer most parents question about some rules & regulation abouts maids and agent....i dont try to sell to all the mummies here...

AND I SEE MANY OF THE POSTED HERE IS AROUND DIRECT HIRED which is not using an agent.... i have the latest article from INDONESIAN EMBASSY that is not allow maid & employer to use direct hired without application through agent.

      please check my company name
SIMPANG TIGA MOBILE PTE LTD (in acra 6 years as old company taken by ex hus SIMPANG TIGA MOBILE)

      FAITH MAID AGENCY PTE LTD

      phone 68414178
      faith.netmaid.com.sg
      Hi,

If direct hire is not allowed then why a few of my ex-maids boast to me that they can come to singapore without agent and without paying agent fees? Said they have lobang for that kind of jobs?

Then shouldn't the Indon govt be more strict in controlling the exit of such maids? I think the Indon gift should be more strict so that these maids will not suka suka tell lies to break contract and go home then within 1 or 2 weeks come back to Singapore to work for another employer.

Anyway, my no.1 question would be why are the new maids so problematic? Sorry ah, I'm dying to know...

    • RE: What do they teach in Maid's SIP classes?

      st2:
This maid has no baby to take care of.

My point is, I think all these maids come into our house with a defensive mindset, eager to manipulate the situation to serve their purpose.

It does not cost them anything to keep changing employers. How many employers are eager to change maids? When we have a good maid, we just want to keep them forever.

All we want is for the maid to be a team player, that starts with following instructions. If they come in wanting to do things their way, it disrupts/ruins our plans.....when they are unhappy having to follow our standard of hygiene or our way of life........they can easily change employer while we are paying levy, food and lodging for their transfer period. If they wanted to stay the same, they should have stay home.....not lie to us to set foot here, then told in class that they can change employer when they are not happy...
I agree...if they are have decided to come here and work, be prepared to work and don't have the mindset to come here for holiday or make friends! many view working overseas as a chance to \"see the world\"...all at the employer's expense...

and i hate it that they already come with a mindset that anything they not happy, just request for change in employer...they never spare a thought for us employers...think we are all so free issit? keep changing employers until they are happy? and when are they happy? when they don't need to do much housework or look after kids or cook and have off days every week and earn a high pay.... :stupid:

seriously, someone should just tell them to wake up their ideas man! if every job is so easy, then why do we have to employ them in the first place? if they want senang jobs, just stay in their own country!

    • RE: Maid request to change employer

According to my BIL’s relative who is an ex-agent, he said these days the maids are all very clever…all choose employers even before they come over. they only want small houses, no kids or pets. and training centre actually teach them that if they are not happy with current employer, they can change anytime they want!

And these maids also very smart, they know MOM are on their side so they dare to ask for this and that…

wish one day we can all tell them to go home and don’t come to SIN already!!! see whether they can be so ya-ya-payaya or not! hahaha…wish only cos i know its impossible…
