I've just returned from Gold Coast. Was staying in Burleigh Heads, not too far from Broad Beach. You could try Jetsetters for car rental as the guy will pick u up from the airport and then u could drive to broad beach. On the day of return, you could drive to his company located near the airport and he will fetch u to the airport from there.

Quite a good experience with them.
