RE: Pre-school fees
I am not familiar with the montessori method… is there any clear distinction between theirs and other pre-schools? I am getting worried about my younger boy as he doesn;t seem to be speaking well and still can’t get certain consonents right at his age… and he has just turned 4! But the teachers kept telling me its normal that some develop their mastery over speech and pronunciation at a later age.
Am wondering if I should switch him to another school to see got any difference or not as I think they focus too muchy on playing… -
RE: [Chua Chu Kang] BASC
Any good BASC to recommend for children going to CCK Primary School? Along CCk Ave 2 preferably and walking distance from the school.

RE: Pre-school fees
Both my kids are now in childcare and the fees is about $500 per pax after subsidy. Reasonable cos I have colleagues who are paying $700 after subsidy…

RE: Pre-school fees
If the increase in fees cannot be justified, then just go. Let your feet do the talking. In my opinion, it is not so much about the CCC, but what parents do with their kids, supervising their work and spending time with them reading etc...

RE: Childcare @ Serangoon Blk 255
My impression of Cherie Hearts is so-so only. I visited their outlet once but the manager was busying attending to her affairs and left us alone for more than 30 mins! In the end we toured the facility ourself and walked out...ALL BY OURSELVES! Amazed.... :stupid:

RE: GEP 2011 - Screening & Selection
One of my neighbour’s boy got into GEP last year but he was telling me it was very presurrizing. To the extent now he is regretting his decision to let him go into GEP…
My take is that GEP produces good crop of students and schools invest more resources in them… but if the kid cannot take the stress, better not risk it. -
RE: [Jurong West] Tutors/Tuition Centres/Enrichment
I send both my boys to 天下 for Chinese enrichment and I CAN READ for English enrichment. My boys' Chinese literally from \"zero\"... and now that love reciting Chinese poems and songs. Not bad.
However, these are for pre-schoolers. Heard that for Primary students, their programmes are not as good as their teachers are mainly from China and not MOE Trained. I heard a school in CCK opened by 梁文福 produces quite good results. Intend to send my elder boy there next year. :? -
RE: Criteria for a Good Student Care Service (BASC)
If you take care of 1 or 2 students, maybe can. If more than that, not sure if you need an approval from MCYS or not?
Anyway, your business idea sounds interesting…
